OG servers dying?

Every time I get on lately, the skial 2fort maps i've had favorited since around covid time or before, are dead? Used to have to wait for a spot to open up on a lot of these servers I've had favorited, now most have 0/24 players or they have 5 real people and like 8 bots. Where did everyone go? I see the skial 64 player servers are popular but i'd never play over 32.

during covid everyone was trapped inside so more people were playing tf2. also the game is not that popular anymore
 
It will depend on people wanting to play on that server if they aren’t feeling bored and keep doing this all over and over. If they got bored, they will end up playing other skial servers to play something else with other players
