I watched it a few months ago for the reason I imagine a lot of others had.
I keep trying to get my friend to finish it but after episode 3 she quit.

General rule is that if it has a dub, it's probably not that obscure.
I'm think I'm lucky though since most of my friends have watched it.
Weird, usually people were about to quit until episode 3.
I almost quit watching when what I call "the mermaid saga" started, that show is rough to watch without a heaping handful of dark chocolate and loads of ice cream.

Any one of you going to watch the movies? The first two came out already but they're just recaps. The third one, "The Rebellion Story," is a sequel and due sometime next year.
I might watch it depending on reviews and stuff, if it's super depressing then I'll just read the plot.

Ah, that's understansable. I don't know what to expect though since with the anime's ending, Gen Urobuchi didn't go full depressing on us as we expected. You ever play Saya no Uta?
I imagine that the movie will be based on Homura/the future Magical Girls as they fight those weird demon things, or maybe it'll be about the Magic Girls rebelling against Kyuubey's species. Nah, but I watched an LP of it, interesting game but just not for me.

Oh. Well, it was a good game. Urobuchi wrote it and it was what mostly people knew him for before he did Madoka.
