The new testament has a verse that denounces homosexuals, but the matter should not come in politics every time someone in politics say that they support homosexuals and them getting married.

It's more likely a case of obama trying to shift attention away from other issues.

They aren't many enough to make them worth appealing to just for votes. There are waaaaay more people who hate homosexuals, so I think Obama's just speaking his mind knowing that the American people can't be stupid enough to vote for a Mormon. As in, they vote for someone with an entirely different religion.

...although I think mormonism is a bit weird.

Another suppostion is that people are afraid to say that gay marraige is wrong, so would vote through a subconcious view that it is the right thing to do, otherwise they are a nazi.
Me, I dont agree with homosexuality, not because of religion or social ethics, my viewpoint is that nature made man and woman, I cannot help the way I think, just as gays cannot help the way they think, i dont treat anyone differently, but would be sure not to vote for someone who thinks a round hole should be filed out to accomodate a square peg.
