Wow people need to chill out, I was disappointed too but I mean it still looks fun.

I still dont own the Wii U (not planning to get a big Nintendo console until their next release) but I'm jealous for the Super Mario Maker, i'll be honest with that. Wish they would announce it for 3DS too.. :(

GOD DAMN FINALLY IVE BEEN WAITING FOR A NEW ACTUAL METROID GAME FOR FOREVER
OTHER M DOESNT COUNT
It's barely Metroid though. Samus isn't even in it.
Edit: I'm not saying it looks bad, just that it doesn't look like Metroid aside from the first-person view and space theme.

I think it looks decent but a ton of people are dumping on it. People need to shut the fuck up.

Samus is not what makes Metroid Metroid.

aw its only a spin off? still looks pretty cool and ill probably buy it anyways
I really like the BlastBall thing, it looks really fun. This could even be something Nintendo is giving us to hold us off while they make a bigger Metroid. Preferably on Wii U

Yeah, but when I think Metroid, I don't think "I'm gonna go play Mech-Soccer with my buddies, who all bought a 40 dollar game so we could play together."

If they wanted to make that game, fine. But don't try to brand it as a Metroid game to improve sales and expect fans who want either an FPS or a Sidescroller to not be angry about it.

I understand where those fans are coming from but holy shit did you see how many dislikes their video trailer got? Fans need to shut the fuck up and get over it, it's really not a big deal in the slightest. They don't have to buy it so why bash a game so hard that they haven't even played? It lacking Samus doesn't automatically make it a bad game.

Fire emblem fates is on nintendo treehouse at 7PM EST.
It's also confirmed 2 versions in the west.
Fuck.

Well the fact that most of the rest of the presentation sucked didn't really help Nintendo's position. They announced one good thing (Paper Mario x Mario and Luigi) and they expanded on StarFox (which unfortunately didn't really seem all that great IMO). That's about all they did right (still have no idea why they left out the Fatal Frame trailer, which looked really nice). The fact that they announced games like Animal Crossing and Metroid got everyone hyped, and then Nintendo was like "lol no these are spinoffs guys, now buy our amiibos" was just...

I think they had the right idea with their 3DS Animal Crossing: Home Makeover Edition, but they undermined anything good they had there by announcing an Animal Crossing Board Game which nobody wanted in the first place (plus it's literally called "Amiibo Festival"). And then there was Metroid. Fans have been waiting since 2010 for a new FPS, and since 2004 for a new sidescroller (and that's being generous, counting Zero Mission as a new game). Teasing a Metroid game and then being like "lol nope" was possibly the worst thing they could've done. If that game had released without Metroid branding, I would never have bought it. Releasing it with Metroid branding is just insult to injury. It looks like an indie developer made it in 2011. And then to brand that as a Metroid game? Not a wise move.

it is its own game. i know they say its a "remake" but so far the only thing that i found to be the same in both the original and zero mission is the room you start in and the piss poor range of your power beam before you get the long beam.
