Is forty dollars really worth a weekend of play though?
For a console title, yes. Even N64 and SNES titles cost $50 back in the day. $40 isn't much for a console game and basing the justification of pricing a game purely on how long it takes to beat it is subjective. Super Metroid and Luigi's Mansion take around 6-8hrs if you don't try to 100% them but people had no qualms paying $50 for either of those titles. It's all about perspective.

I bought The Walking Dead season 1 and 2 and it took about a weekend to beat. I thought it was worth.
TWD isn't about gameplay though, it's about story. You want to progress fast.

Kind of cherry picking there. Could you beat Castlevania in a weekend? Contra? I doubt a kid in the 90's who was playing Sm64 for the first time, before anyone knew anything about the game, could beat it in a weekend.

When comparing to older games you need to remember that now we know everything about these games, so of course we're going to beat it.

Meh, I guess so. Shoe let me play some of Captain Toad and I think it's really fun. I'm probably going to buy it.

All of those games were also more expensive than Captain Toad. Again $40 is not much for a brand new console title. If you had a minimum wage it would take 6-7hrs of work to cover a $40 game. In my perspective spending the ammount that I earn from 4-5hrs of work is worth the many more hours I'll get out of this game.

Remade an old spoiler tag into a "Nintendo General" spoiler.

Updated 3DS friend code list so that it didn't hyper link random codes.

since I know that some people import, has anybody laid hands on a New 3DS and played Japanese Sm4sh? if so, is C-Stick exactly like on the Gamecube?

I don't think anyone here has imported it but, GameXplain says the C-stick feels like this little fucker on laptops.

Which could be a good or bad thing, GameXplain says it feels good though. If you are talking about on Smash, it's like the C-stick in Brawl and Melee just you can charge your smash attacks.

I've felt one of those. they actually feel comfortable sometimes, but they're a pain sometimes. one computer in the house has one of those.

I have a friend who never cleans his GC controller in the Smash Club and on the grips you can see a gunky green/grey film against his pure white controller it's disgusting.
