There is a bit of an uproar on the internet about will.i.am and Chris Brown's new song. The music is obviously stolen. See below.
Since music is my profession, well at least the teaching of it is, I am really interested by the copying, re-working, or remixing of music.
There is even a cool website called http://soundsjustlike.com/ that shows such songs. It makes no judgement, but lets you listen side-by-side and you judge for yourself.
Kirby Ferguson made an OUTSTANDING web series called "Everything Is A Remix" http://www.everythingisaremix.info/
He examines these ideas in relation to music, film, copyright, etc. It is really well done.
