Scarcely Lethal Noob
How often would you be available to trade?:
When I'm not working. That is usually about 9am-3pm EST.
What country do you live in?:
USA.
What is the highest value trade you have completed so far (with risk, or without, list both)?:
Highest Value Trade - 300$ With 100$ Without.
Do you have any prior middleman experiences?:
None, But I've wanted to learn how to be one.
You're middleman'ing a trade, and the seller claims to have not received the money after the buyer says he sent it. How do you proceed?:
I would hold onto the items involved with the trade. I would proceed to ask the buyer for proof of sending the money (whether it be over BitCoin or PayPal) and the seller for proof of not receiving the money. If the Buyer has sent the money to the correct place, I would have them wait for a few minutes to give whatever medium used the time to process the transaction. Once all is cleared, we can proceed with the trade. If the buyer at any time feels uncomfortable with the situation, I would allow the trade to stop, return all items, and end the middleman session. The buyer and sellers comfort in the trade are key in my opinion.
The buyer and seller are negotiating between Steam items, and items from a non-Steam game. How do you handle this transaction?:
I would not participate in a trade of this kind personally. I have no control over the non-steam items and how they are traded. This also violates SteamRep Rules.
The seller is a tagged scammer on SteamRep. While it's impossible for him to rip anybody off if you're effectively middlemanning, do you still proceed with the transaction? If so, how? What about pending reports, or caution tags?:
I would initially start by letting the other party know of the reputation of the opposing party. If they still wish to continue with the trade, I would look into the reports against the scammer to know what their history of offenses was and what they did to specifically watch out for that.
If there was additional time between that point and the actual trade, I could contact other trading communities that have placed caution tags or have pending reports to hear what the report is about within their community. Making sure to keep people safe from getting scammed is everyone's job, and can't be completed without a team effort in some cases.
Do you have any form of reputation? Be it a rep thread or feedback on a trading site?:
Unfortunately, no.
Why should you represent Skial's community of traders on SteamRep?:
Like I stated above, It is a team effort to help keep people safe from scammers. Most people don't understand that being a middleman isn't about you. I look at it as it as my improvement to help keep people from getting scammed. I'm not in this for money or anything at all. My time being a middleman is to be there to keep trades safe and help them move along efficiently. It has been a goal of mine for a while to be a middleman to help the trading community, but my current occupation has really been limiting it. I know it takes a while to process these applications, therefore I am submitting them now so when I get moved to my next station, My time will be more open. While I don't have any trade reputation, I have completed many things in real life that have built my view on scammers and how to handle the newer trading community. I am open to questions and feedback and look forward to hearing from everyone!

I'm going to go ahead and decline this. On top of the lack of reputation and experience, official middlemen do not middleman for scammers for any reason.
