Do I get my praise yet?

In all seriousness there's nothing wrong with the picture by itself, it's just some person messing with a photo editor, but that comment...
if i took a picture of your dead family and make fun of it would nothing be wrong with it?

It would be a picture, the only way you would be belittling the tragedy of mankind's mortality is if you were to do it during the moments of their celebration of life and existence. It would not hurt my feelings in any way, because you would be of little importance in the context of the situation. However, they are not comparable to begin with.

You are implying that singling out individuals and singling out a terrible event hold the same gravity. You also seem to be accusing me of making fun of every single person who was killed or injured, rather than responding to the comment's "Despite being a knowledgeable history student, seeing a cartoon character in a sad photo is the only way I would have been able to grasp the true horror of this event."

It's been nearly 11 years, I'm getting tired of this being a sacred topic. Are we making fun of every person who has died for this country every time we disapprove or poke fun at the government? The United States have done far worse to greater numbers of innocent people anyway, but I don't see anyone becoming vocal when a person makes a Hiroshima joke. Laughing at the Hiroshima joke won't even mean you think they were all worthless, or that you approved of what was done at the time.

Anyway, let's get back with this thread's pro lack of shame and memes.
