Somewhat Threatening Sniper
Something that I've noticed about ba_chrietien is that instead of the traditional armory spawn, the guards have a warden tower with elevators and a separate armory. I believe we need to make some rules addressing if
  • Whether or not Warden Tower is kos
  • Whether or not breaking elevators is kos
  • Whether or not using Avoid Toxic glitch is kos.
  • and some others i cant list off the top of my head sorry i'm tired
What do you think? Should we update the rules for a slightly more complex map?
 
So far, Sroy and I agree that warden tower and breaking elevators aren't kos, but hitting the button to open the exit is kos. VS sentry is technically freekill because it's impossible unless Red has a spy. The level 2 & 3 sentries put out too much knockback for the reds to even hit them, let alone destroy them.

I still vote we remove the map entirely, though

It isn't anyone being butthurt, it is that the game is a really difficult task even with a large amount of people. Wouldn't be as hard if people would rush it but sadly that just doesn't happen.
Anyway the map is really big and not all that good.

Yeah, but no one want to throw themselves at a sentry and die for the team while the group in the back lags behind because they want LR.

Chrietien is a yucky map. You can't even finish obby unless you're a scout and the map is way to easy to rebel on. Most of the games would be fun if they were on a map with a smaller layout imo.
 
Vs Sentry is like Obby on Casurania, someone has to sacrifice their life so others can progress. But nobody wants to do that.
 
Here's some reasons why ba_chrietien is the best map:
  • Another way to win round: Escape the Prison. Literally brings back the entire original meaning of "Jailbreak"
  • No games are broken or break except Avoid Toxic (which is too bad, toxic is really good)
  • Got rid of all the shit freekilling games (Wipeout, Boxing, fall game) and added really fun, skillful games (Ghost Hunt, Vs. Sentry, Difficult Obby)
  • Warden Tower
  • Big, harder to rebel
  • Straightforward paths (Left, Right, Mid)
  • Alarms (map alerted when exit is open or if a rebel is in armory)
  • Catwalks
  • Jetpack secret for freedays
  • No pointless disco room
Some issues I wanted to bring up about your complaints with Vs. Sentry and Chrietien Obby:
  • Chrietien Obby is, believe me, playable by all classes. I have completed Chrietien Obby as Heavy, and many other people have beaten it with classes such as Sniper, Pyro, and Engie. It requires a lot of skill (as it should be) but is easy to finish after you get enough practice.
  • Vs. Sentry brings in a need for teamwork, a theme deeply rooted in Team Fortress 2. Something Vs. Sentry players need to realize is that they have two choices: 1. Take one for the team, and achieve great glory or suffer an awful but righteous death. 2. Failmate.
These are some reasons why ba_chrietien is the best map on Skial Jailbreak, or at the very least better than ba_xtreme_wakka or ba_hop. It's a complicated map, but it's a very good map.

You play the right class for the right job. If you're going to be warden, don't be like a scout with a shortstop, mad milk, and fan-o-war
All you have to do to kill any class on that is sit by a wall with your gun/melee out and wait for them to cross your path and hope you win. Regardless not being able to kill guards easily doesn't mean the map isn't easy to rebel on. The more guards that run around looking for you means more opportunity for your team to kill the others that are watching them.
 
Places that blue can sit and reds can't get into (Guard Tower) are my least favorite places. Like the Doctor Who room on Minecart, the blues can sit in the guard tower and never come out. I dislike anything that causes prolonged rounds, which is also why I dislike the ridiculously long corridors and the fact that nobody has any idea where the games are except a select few.

Also, on the last jump in Obby, I sometimes hit some invisible object, lose all momentum, and fall into the pit. That's broken. Yeah, I've beaten it before as sniper, but not being able to beat it every time without relying on hope and luck that I won't hit anything invisible means that it's broken.
 
I never liked that map because of how big it is. A guard doesn't even need to camp the guard tower. There are plenty of nooks and crannies they could camp, and I've seen people camp Vs. Sentry as well. Not to mention those ungodly hallways when a warden asks you to crouch walk to the other side of the map. The size of the map also makes it ridiculously easy to rebel. I can just run off as a scout and lose the guards very quickly because of all the rooms available to you. It's not challenging at all and by the time the other players have reached the first mini game, someone usually already has ammo.
 
Chrietien needs to be removed IMO

It's a big, confusing map that causes rounds to drag on, has a room that only one player can get in which makes them practically invincible because they can't be killed in the room, its extremely easy to rebel, there's a exploit that I won't go into too much detail about that allows players to kill everyone by going in spectator mode and most rounds fall apart very quickly
 
I'd like to throw in some thoughts about chretien too.

First, I really like the map for the minigames, Hylian is right about them being the most varied and fun games the maps have to offer.
The one big problem of the map is its size. As a warden, you either waste half the round time when you order the prisoners to crouch, or you let them run and have to search for 5 escaped scunts afterwards.

I'd suggest to maybe implement some kind of portals to the minigames. Maybe across the cells, portals like the one at the end of deathrun in minecart.
This way, a warden could get the prisoners into the favoured minigame in an acceptable time.
Leaving the size unaffected, rebels could still take advantage of the many ways to escape, the only difference would be that non-rebels and guards have an easier time and a round could end with a legit lr instead of 6 people surviving the first minigame when the clock is at 0:30 and a warden has no other choice than saying something like "jump for lr".
 
I would like to throw in my 2 cents on this issue...

VS Sentry is literally impossible without a spy. IF you think people are going to use teamwork in jailbreak, let's be honest, they aren't.
The map is too big, it makes it easier for scouts to rebel and hard for any other class to rebel.
Going into the top guard room is not KOS, pressing the exit button is KOS.
The map is not our original and I doubt our map-makers have the time or skill or textures to edit it.

It has a lot of issues, and is one map that is overpowered for both guards AND rebels.

So, I will implement some new rules on it if some more people agree with these so far...

- Camping in the guard room has the same rules as armory, except prisoners are allowed in there just not to press the button.
- VS Sentry is banned.
- Avoid Toxic is banned (due to the exploit).
- Leaving the group at all during the round is KOS (this is obvious but some guards do not seem to understand it.).

Just reply and let me know which rules you DO agree with and which you DO NOT agree with.
 
I agree on all, but the 4th will cause a problem: If the warden orders the reds to crouch somewhere, heavies will fall behind, and at any given time theres always a person on whos gonna pump the heavies full with bullets and exclaim "lol, they were not in da group XD".

Maybe declare the slowest red as the group leader, so they actually stay together instead of scouts far in front, then the normal speed classes, and the heavies in the back.
