Declined Make a rule against pan spamming

Pretty obvious, the noise it makes is incredibly obnoxious, and according to TapTap, there are no rules against it. He was in a server and a scout was spamming it, people were complaining, and there was nothing he could do.

I don't think we ban weapons.
You might as well try another attempt at getting rid of mini-sentries.

If the the only thing he is doing is spamming the pan and not even moving, that's griefing which is bannable.

If he swings it around but is beneficial for the most part, leave the guy alone.

As long as they aren't just doing this the whole round:

it's fine. It's one thing to use the pan as a weapon but another to just stand around and not kill the enemy the whole time.

With all due respect to Taptap I think he was mistaken. We've banned people in the past who ran around doing nothing but panning teammates. It can be considered griefing, and sometimes friendlying if they're not helping their team at all.

If they're going after enemies with it, even if they're just using a pan and nothing more that's not something we would ban over.

I've asked David about it and that was his response too. The thing is, he wasn't friendlying / panning whole round.

It was on DR, and he would just pan team mates when they stop before each trap.

I agree it was annoying (which is why I tried to make him stop) but in my opinion it didn't deserve a ban.

IMO griefing in DR on red is either not going through the course or trying to push teammates down pits. Reds in DR melee each other all the time while still playing out of boredom.

it's not too hard to make yourself a TF2 addon to replace the pan noises. I made myself one to silence the Machina fanfare

Pan was blocked on Trade NY because a bunch of people spammed it. If people are spamming it, I'm sure it would be griefing or something but I don't think someone should get banned for just using it.

I think banning the weapon is a dumb idea. If you don't like it, do something about the sound. If people are only hitting their own team mates with the pan while refusing to play, than report them and they will be dealt with.

-1, the sound is not that annoying and if they are refusing to help the team and only hitting people on their own team you can report them.
