It's not an amazing game, but it's kinda cool. But the Graphics, and the backgrounds just look so f*cking awesome!

So yeah, is this WoW clone any good?

WoW clone?

It's not even close and the classes of this game make me want to vomit. In short terms, I hate this game.
In logic terms, it's a game that's more into grinding and questing. So if you like grinding a lot and having to buy something to get to a new area... This is the game for you. (I guess though that's the only thing that's keeping them alive + VIP status.)

I don't play MMOs much as I don't like grinds and my time is better spent on TF2 and L4D, but this one I stuck with because I'm a huge Tolkien fan.

It is a beautiful game if you are into the lore, I wept when I first rode into Rivendell and shat my trousers when I first fell to Saruman. They treat the lore reverently in most places and the community is better than most big games. That said, it is grindy as fuck, you have to invest countless hours to get to endgame and countless more to be geared well enough to be taken seriously.

It is F2P so no risk to play, that way you can decide for yourself, but be warned that you would have to be a masochist to grind for the points to buy all the quest regions you would need to really see much of the game. Literally days of grinding to get a quest pack unlocked, and then expansions are that much more expensive again - you cannot reasonably progress beyone level 50 without buying the Mines of Moria content, and end game is 85 or thereabouts. I have no issues paying so it was no issue for me, but for the legions of F2P it must be a seriously brutal experience.

Keep in mind that I've never even sampled WoW so have little to refer to
