Help Me! Lag while recording.

When I am playing TF2 I smooth gameplay, and I decide heck, I want to record now but when I am recording the gameplay is kind of stuttering and same in the replay too. HELP

Recording software:Camtasia Studio 8 trial.

By the way... Got any other good recording software?
 
Yeah, you usually need to lower the framerate or the resolution. If you have a second hard drive you can record to that, it should help some.
 
I'd say FRAPS, but you have to pay for the full version, to remove the watermark.
Or you can torrent

He'll probably just have the same problem with fraps. Fraps is one of the worst ones in regards to causing stutter.
 
I'd say try using demos, even I get decent FPS while recording with the demo feature (my laptop sucks) but I don't know if there's a way to convert demos into normal video files

Tried that, I had to delete all my tf2 files cause I messed up. And I want to record at specific times..
