So I use iTunes and have an iPhone and all that. Today, iTunes updated and now my laptop and iTunes refuse to detect my iPhone when it's connected. Now before anyone says anything, I've done tons of research and tried everything. It turns out that my computer detects my iPhone as an "unrecognizable device". The problem seems to be that the driver for the iPhone is missing and that's why my laptop and iTunes can't detect it as an actual device. I redownloaded iTunes multiple times and looked online for the driver that I need but for some reason, the driver didn't download with iTunes and when I checked Apple's site, there wasn't any downloads that would allow me to get the driver. If anyone could give me advice on what to do, that would be great because I really don't know what to do.

It could be 3 possibilities i believe:
1.- if you took it to a non-apple repair center to change a part (this possibility is only if you did it) and now iTunes refuses to read it when it got updated
2.- Less probable, but possible, maybe apple retired support to iPhone 4s
3.- if you found your driver, have you tried to install it to the system?
I hope you understand what i mean, and if you dont, just tell me

Pd: is your cable original from apple? Or its generic?

One last thing, is itunes showing any other thing like an error code?

iTunes is running fine and so is everything else. I found the iPhone under "other devices" but the problem is that when I try to find the driver for the phone, it comes up missing. I've looked online and offline.

But, is your cable original? Or its generic? That is very important to know because normally is the cable the one that gives problems of this type

I was able to fix it on my own by doing something that wasn't listed on any Apple or tech sites. I went into my uninstall window and repaired the device. Now it works.

Most of the times the manufacturer pages dont give you full support to all problems, so you have to try fix it by your own, but anyways, its good that you were able to resolve it! If you have any other problems, make a post or something like that so i can see if i can help you! ;)
PD: In all cases check the cable, to be sure, most of the times the problem can be caused by it
