While speaking with some mic spammers tonight after Ruelel helped me ban one of them, I made the suggestion that they use the !radio command if they really want to listen to music in-game. They stated that the radio on Skial sucks, which I actually agree with. I never use it because the selection is terrible.

Is there any possible way we could improve this feature? I think it's a great idea, and would probably (hopefully) help curb the micspam problem we have.

Thanks!

The !radio command actually connects to a station, where they do take suggestions, so if there is a poor selection of music its by users fault.

you still hear in-game voice through radio though

just start a playlist on youtube with your favorite songs

I'm with you guys, I'd just as soon set my netbook next to me on my desk and play music that way (and I do), but in a show of good will to some people I just royally pissed off, I told them I'd make the suggestion.

I will need to check out the radio command more, maybe I can help people use it better.

use !request *insert song*

get everyone on the server to do the same thing

profit

but then do !shoutout *insert dj name* "is the best dj ever"

!request gets bumped because you made him feel good

????

profit

I would hate for people to have more uses for the crappy MOTD browser. If you are that into music that you want to play it instead of actually communicating with your team either play it locally or have Spotify, Rdio, etc. open. Or you know, have a device that plays music and just hook it into your speakers. There's these things called MP3 players, you can get cheap ones for like $20. I know some people are too cheap to spend any money on anything, but seriously, if it's going to detriment my experience then I won't have any of it.

The radio doesn't suck, I remember requesting a song, and it got played after the current one finished, it was an awesome experience.

this.

and I think this may fall under the micspamming music category, if only because some people get huge boners when others are forced to listen to a song they like.

if you're talking about the grooveshark plugin i posted. it only plays the song locally so you wont have to listen to that one kid who listens to MCR

Well that plugin has it's on problems. It locks up for a bit when you start to play a song because of the crappy MOTD browser.
