Several other LGBTQIA+ people were also bothered enough to speak out against this hate speech in chat. The reason this particular comment is harmful is it denies the existence/validity of non-cishet people by claiming their gender/orientation is a choice rather than a fact of their lives. It's simply a rephrasing of "I identify as an attack helicopter". Denial of basic facts like this is how bigots justify their hate; idleside's words are hate speech against LGBTQIA+ people for exactly the same reason Holocaust denial is antisemitic.

1. Phatboi you are not only embellishing, but targeting me specifically, someone who's been with Skial for years.
2. Someone in voice chat said to say what you support and what your favorite food is... I said LGBQ+- and my favorite food is fries >
3. If you go back to the voice logs you can see that lots of people participated, but i choose to type it in chat
4. Second chat log (I'm talking to you phatboi, regarding Japan) - do you know what is my heritage? where was I born? Most people in chat know this - so why is what I typed anti-asian? What proof can you provide that shows I'm being anti-asian?

If you think what I typed in a skial TF2 chat is hate speech, to the point where you come on this forum (thinking I wouldn't see this) to file a complaint, while there are dozens of racial slurs thrown around in voice chat DAILY, and text chat, tells me you have an alternate agenda.

I've been playing TF2 and skial for many many many years... and this is what you come up with to mute me?
I'm sorry but mods you should not take random text chats grabs from 'Phatboi' and mute and gag me on this server. There was no TOS words or racial slurs.

Please use better judgment is my ask.

Idleside was inspired by Poomba and Scrambles' transphobia. Poomba starts things off with a "joke" he makes every so often which not only states that gender is a choice (rather than a fact of life) but also minimizes the difficulties trans people face when socially and medically transitioning by equating it to changing classes in TF2. Scrambles follows up with the classic "they just cut your dick off with scissors!" joke. Then idleside finishes it off with the bigotry from my original post.
