Batman doesn't kill him because he wants everyone in Gotham to leave, so he can sign a contract with Cheney and take all of the resources that Gotham has, providing even more money to Wayne Enterprises. He is a businessman, after all

^Batman is wondering the same.

He does what he does because his parents were killed.
He doesn't kill the joker because revenge won't bring his parents back, and its just murder. Batman is a great Hero, but he is not a Super Hero.

Cinic, YO FACE IS DUMB
But it's related to Classy's video "Batman Under The Red Hood", shit blows up with the Joker still inside.

I haven't seen any (of the newer) Batman movie.

The first couple of posts (save for one or two) were actually legitimate debates of a surprisingly legitimate and intellectually stimulating question about Batman and what it means to be a superhero, but then this whole thread just turned dumb.

Sorry to be tardy to the party

I think batman is a great superhero, but a shit hero. He is an idealist, but is too paragon to be a hero to humanity and is more of a symbol of endurance and protection. He's a symbol, for something for people to look up to. Its got it's positive and negative benefits. He deals in absolutes, so while I don't agree with the theme of batman, I like the struggle of the man. While I don't fully respect what he does do to clashing with his own philosophy, i enjoy reading and watching him, like watching Sisyphus pushing his rock up a hill to fail again and again, he keeps trying. Thats pretty admirable.
