Maybe start adding a little more contrast to the colors. Maybe different tones of grey and blue and more detail to the clothing, other then that the drawing itself I really like. Did you get the idea of that pose from the yu-gi-oh card?

Well he just started drawing so you can't expect him to be drawing master pieces. I think the only thing that matters at this stage is actually learning how to develop ideas and sketch them out, and in the end creating a slightly developed drawing. Coloring/shading will only matter in the long run, but is still very important to get good at. Btw, good job so far Darjeeling.

I was simply giving him a friendly suggestion to keep in mind when creating his next drawing.
And I was simply saying that, that practice (detailed coloring) is not essential at his current skill level. Focusing on a single skill at a time is a much more competent way of learning how to draw. Trying to perfect all of your skills at once is not going to get your anywhere, or at least at a steady pace.

Yeah I did for the pose. Wanted to give him the appearance of the marvel comic odin, having always been a comic book lover and now getting into Nordic mythology.

I believe it is "Nordic" or "Norse" not Norwich. Norwich is a city in england. Anyway, I'm a big fan of their mythology as well, something about it just appeals to me, mainly the way it is written. The gods themselves are also very humanlike in a sense. Try drawing Thor?

I thought it'd be fun editing the background a little using some paint.net layer/glow/noise wizardry.
