Problem solved. How well could this build perform?

Generally you're going to see more fps in modern games with speed than you would by sacrificing it for two more cores, if you can get two more cores and manage the same stock (or overclock), then by all means. (Posting benchmark scores is useless when you don't say which benchmark it is)

My experience shows that GT cards are garbage. Also, as far as I heard BF3 is all about CPU...

Anyhow, I'm selling my PNY GTX 460 1GB GDDR5 (has been used for 1 year) for $120. (New one goes for $250). If you are interested - let me know.
NVidia's website says you will get 42-45 fps in BF3 with this card on Ultra quality. I managed to get 40 fps on Ultra quality

I personally run a GTX card in my system and have had zero problems with it, nor has anyone else I know that runs one in theirs

GTX - yes. I was talking about GT though. Two cards you've suggested were not GTX - they were GT. And GT cards are junk :D

so they are... EVGA is a pretty reliable maker though, worst comes to worse, RMA another one with newegg should it fail

Speed is more important than number of cores

Most of the time the Cores don't even effect gameplay THAT much. What affects it is memory, Graphics and Video Card memory also is something that matters a lot. It's not all Cores.
