I really appreciate the suggestions to go to reddit - but I tried a few larger gaming forums and got so much hate mail that I was forced to take down the posts.
It seems that the larger the community overall, the less admins care about trolls.

I dont want to be an "internet celebrity" because of this - i just want to see if I can raise enough to get some help.

Thank you everyone!

I'd give you money, but I'm in a tight spot right now with my finances and stuff. Not that I have much room to complain, you're dying of cancer. I hope my blessings of manliness should suffice. Best of luck to you, friend.

Um. Why aren't you using this money for legal representation?

I MADE A TYPO AND FIXED IT

Joe,
I've donated $20. Not much, but sincere. I wish you good luck in your fight and hope you'll end up being a winner.

i said, should have been aren't. He said he'd need to hire legal aid to get SSI, I feel like that would cost less and work better for him in the long run than this.

most SSI lawyers don't take money unless you get it, and in my mother's case they took 30% of the back-logged money..it's normally not an upfront fee.

oh right. glad that's cleared up

Mate, if there's one place people won't troll, it's reddit. Admins may very likely have a creepingdeath-type of view to trolls.

That being said, I've posted your site on my facebook and I hope that garners you a donation or so, since I'm 14 and all. Good luck man.

If they raised a couple hundred thousand dollars on Reddit for some bullied bus monitor, I'm sure that if you can find a zealous person enough on Reddit, you could find some support - it isn't 4chan.

Thanks for the suggestions on legal representation and other issues.

I have exhausted all the normal ways to pay for my treatment, unfortunately I have been turned down for all forms of government aid.

No, its not because I did anything wrong or arent qualified as "disabled" - it is because of small unfortunate loopholes and other circumstances.

As for Reddit - let me be honest...I have no idea how it works or what its for. A friend of mine tried to explain it to me but I cant see how my story would get any attention whatsoever.

Plus - the more places I publicize my own story - the more I feel that shame and guilt for basically nominating myself for an award.

I was raised to never ask for help - and now that I have been turned away from every mainstream option - I turned to a more radical measure like this fundraiser...but I feel like although my story is sad - there are others more worthy of mainstream help.

If my fundraiser works, then I'll survive. If it doesn't, I suppose I wasn't meant for this world any more.

As for "pics" of my condition...what are you asking for, exactly? Pictures of the malignant tumors in my colon, or a picture of my lymphoma?

I'm not here to fight for your belief, my friends. If you are still a compassionate person who wishes to add your good thoughts or any other form of support, then I welcome you and will gladly talk with you about my condition - however please know that I won't defend my condition.

I need to stay positive.

While some may not have the best of...hm I suppose the word would be class. One can not blame anyone of being skeptical of anything online as the anonymity allows for many scams. I'm not saying I don't believe you, I personally do - and I hope you get the treatment you require, I'm just saying that not everyone asking you for some more solid proof isn't an asshole. Someone might be hinging on making a large donation and simply want to feel better that the money is going to a legit cause.

As for the reddit deal, as I said in my previous post if a story of a bus aide getting bullied managed to raise that much money, garnered that much attention - your story is a lot worse than that (no offense obviously.) If you know someone who uses reddit and you don't feel comfortable using it, why not ask him to champion for you? Post the information, the story, all the necessary information and you don't...worst that happens is you don't get support which they already aren't providing - reddit doesn't have many trolls...the trolls they do have stay the hell out of issues like yours.

As far as being ashamed of asking for help - I've told people this billions and billions of time..life doesn't always turn out how we planned, and sometimes we have to do some really shitty things we never saw ourselves doing simply to get by. Don't feel ashamed because you need a leg up, there isn't a single person in this world who hasn't done something they never thought they'd do out of necessity.

As far as the government turning you down via loopholes, I strongly recommend you contact a law firm that specializes in SSI and Social Security cases in general, normally the name of the firm alone will scare them into giving you the money and since you aren't getting any income from them already - them taking 30% of the backlogged money isn't something you'll notice.

Just a few suggestions/observations, I hope things end up getting better for you.
