Halloween Items: Worth the trouble?

Riddle me this.

Tons of items are added to the game, but they can only be used for a grand total of maybe three weeks out of the year.

All of these temporary items can be purchased as a bundle, or fought over in presents that may spawn.

Of the items that can be used after the Halloween event is over, most of them are Pyro hats, one's a reskinned YER, and the other is a reskin of the fish.

Makes me wonder why Valve went above and beyond to make sure servers register for the event.

I agree that it seems pointless since they can't be used all year round, but I like Halloween; so I want them!

Anyways, yeah. I really liked the pyro stuff (have to dress up Airakah ;D [inb4jokes]), and the demoman set looked absolutely awesome, just sucks that you can't wear them beyond Halloween. I do think they're justified, though.
People already criticize the game for being a "dress-up" game or "hat simulator". Having people looking like a werewolf on an FPS... Meh.
Don't mind the pyro stuff, though. Too metal to pass up.

Hardly worth the trouble. I had to knock myself out to get one set of non-haunted sniper stuff. Only the haunted items seem to have any real metal value and it doesn't look like either variety will be usable all year around.

Seems the only one that's going for any sort of value is the Engy head that makes him talk like a fly.

That's exactly right. Every Halloween and full moon the value of these items will be up. If you want to get the most value from them, wait for someone desperate who wants to use them right away.

Actually, someone found them so valuable that they gave me a hat for 2 of them. Now my Medic has a Gentleman's Gatsby.
