I use this, but alternate between the whip and the escape plan or pain train depending on my mood.

The buffed Reserve Shooter is awesome.

A really good soldier loadout for pubs is the Black Box, Concheror, and Escape Plan.

You spam with the black box to get health, you pop concheror, get more health, and run away with escape plan when you have no health. It works so well.

I'm still trying to learn how to trolldier. I don't know how some people can do that as their main loadout and actually do as well as people using regular launchers. Maybe it's because I'm terrible at jumping.

When I go 'troldier' instead of market gardening people its more like me rocket-jumping close to them and meat-shotting them with my shotty. I replace the mantreads with my shotty cause I NEVER manage to land on them.
But its probably cause I suck

A good hat combination is Baronial Bouncer + Hornblower.

I like the Black Box with the Reserve Shooter and Disciplinary Action. Black Box is incredibly powerful for flanking and you get the Reserve Shooter for when you need an extra shot or two.

I also like the Airborne Armaments set. Shoot at feet, and as soon as you click, switch to the Reserve Shooter, and then kill them while they're in the air. The Liberty Launcher gets them into a "sweet spot" where you do max damage with your Reserve Shooter and its extra speed allows you to more reliably shoot feet. Even if you miss the feet, well... shotguns are really nice in general and people tend to jump around a lot anyway. And, of course, market gardening for fun and assassinations.
