Mine's basically busted, could buy another super mlg overpriced one, but I know good mics can come cheap. I'm looking around the $30 range, but can go higher.

Good Headsets for Cheap?

Your headset's made by Logitech, isn't it? Logitech has a pretty good warranty on their stuff. Give them a call and tell them what's up.
But isn't it only a POS because it's broken? What if you had a properly functioning one? LOL
Just trying to get you a free solution instead of a solution that costs money.

I use the Microsoft Lifechat Lx-3000. It's $40, but it breaks SUPER easily. But every time it breaks, I go to Microsoft Hardware Support or whatever and tell them that my headset broke. They send me a bunch of emails telling me to check my computer settings, but I keep telling them that it's a physical defect with my headset, and they believe it, and they send me an email asking for my address. After about a month, I get another completely free headset in the mail.
I'm pretty clumsy with my possessions, so each of my headsets last around 6 months before I ask Microsoft for a replacement. I'm currently on my third or fourth free headset from them.
