Hello,
I joined the skial orange x fix map and started playing a demo. I joined in on the conversation that was taken place but did not say anything offensive or vulgar. I got vote muted and gaged in the 5 minutes I joined. This is the second time this has happened the first i got banned for 30 minutes without reason or justification. Is there anything i can do to get unmuted and ungaged?
 
I understand it's for 30 minutes but can i report the person who started the vote for griefing? if so, where do I report these people cause it gets annoying sometimes.

take a screenshot when the vote first pops up so it shows the user's name and steamid in the chat.
 
Just happened again. 5 minutes into playing orange x_fix and got gaged and muted. I disconnected in disbelief but next time I'm going to get screenshots. It's really starting to get annoying because I am not griefing, harassing, being vulgar to anyone. I love playing the orange x map on the skial server but its just getting flooded by little kids who start vote spamming when things aren't going their way.
 
Why is a gag/mute even that big of a deal? It doesn't prevent you from playing, just ignore it. I can understand it being annoying, but don't let it ruin your day.

people shouldn't have to sit idle and suck it up when someone abuses the votemenu. sure it's not gamebreaking, but it gets annoying after you become the prime target for no reason.

i don't think anyone legit would come onto the forums and contest votemute abuse when that person isn't doing anything, you could just look up a chatlog and see if the person does anything to warrant something that classifies as breaking the rules, the only thing left out would be the microphone, but that'd be a stretch.

Orange, not idle. Muted on three separate occasions, think it's more likely he's deserving than not, but without knowing if it's the same person there's really no way to know.

You don't have to think, just look though the ban appeals section. Why is microphone a stretch? It's not.

Here's my suggestion to OP, whenever you play on Orange start a demo the second you join. Record the whole game. Then you can prove people are targeting you, without you having done anything to deserve it.

sit idle, as in the phrase; not idle servers. just because a votemute consecutively succeeds three times in a row doesn't mean it's justified. especially people on custom servers really don't give a shit about votes and just press 'Yes' regardless of what the punishment is, and for whom it's intended for. i'm saying the microphone is a stretch because i take this guy's word for it considering he's arguing he hasn't been saying anything that could be considered vulgar or offensive. that and i don't think any serious arguments take place over the microphone on orange maps.

i've been victim of repetitious votemenu abuse myself on custom servers, today i picked the name "pr1mus f2p" for shits and giggles just so a bunch of elitist bigots could start discriminating against me, alongside calling unwarranted votemutes and votebans against me because "f2p r noob ban him gay".

I was wondering why you had 'f2p' in your Steam name despite the fact you had a Proof of Purchase. did you confuse anyone by wearing it?

No, but unless it's the same person muting him it's more likely he's deserving of it. I've had votes thrown against me on the custom servers, can't say I've ever had one pass.

Should we take the guys word in the ban request thread against you that you've been votespamming against him? Why take the word of someone that's unknown.

Looking at your chatlog it could be argued that votes against you were justified.

people were talking shit about f2p, so i decided to change my name to something obnoxious and tell them how i was f2p and better than all the people that kept mouthing off some f2p person, they retorted by getting mad, calling me poor that i couldn't afford €5 (despite having earbuds and other promo and vintage stuff that supposedly makes your e-penis very huge) and votemuting me, all the whilst talking shit to me whilst i couldn't say anything back. :(

then you are one of the few that are fortunate, i suppose.

i didn't votespam against 'that' guy, it was one vote, and it was for a reason that could be more considered more 'fair' than the reason i got muted for.

at the time i led people to believe i was f2p, and that swings wrong with all the kids that got their parents to buy them hats for TF2, so there's my reason for getting muted, besides calling them out for being worse than the very person they are hating on (for all the wrong reasons).
