huge "hype" update came with a video and a little over a paragraph of patch notes

ded gaem

I feel like valve needs to introduce new things similar to MvM. The game hasn't exactly been growing much, and you could make the argument that it's slowly dying/fading. TF2 was at it's peak player amount when MvM initially came out. Without new and fun ideas, the game doesn't present itself to new players nor does it help revitalize the interest of current or former players. This update really disappointed me. fuck.

I FEEL RIPPED OFF I PAID €0.00 FOR THIS UPDATE AND ¥0.00 FOR THE GAME. I EXPECT YOU TO DELIVER VALVE
Just because we don't pay money doesn't mean we can't be disappointed. This update was one of the most hyped update since I'd say 2012, with Pyromania. We were supposedly getting a cool video, a new map, new weapons, etc. We got the video, but other than that, all we got was essentially the same as the last community update: cosmetics. Valve cut the map without even bothering to tell the community, and I feel that gives people the right to be upset.

Since when is it okay to have this sense of entitlement? Thats whats wrong with fucks today, we expect top quality for free. The game is so fucking old you're LUCKY they even update it anymore. Valve and blizzard are the only two companies that continually make major updates to their games that I know of and yet you still demand more from them.

It could be worse and it could be EA or activision that doesnt give you the game you paid for or forces you to buy next year's game to be cool.

Oi dis guy.

"It's free so you can't complain" and "imagine how shitty it COULD be" wrapped all in one reply. Good, top notch arguments Jedders.

Not what I'm talking about. Valve said there would be a new map. Valve said we'd get items. The community made the map, and Valve was like, "Nah." And then Valve gave us a half assed update.

When a company says they're going to do something, they should do it, or admit that they're not going to be able to do it. Valve did neither of those things, and just sprung an over-hyped update on us.

I feel like this wouldn't have been so disappointing if they hadn't said there would be a map and more than just cosmetics to this update. The video was great and all, but it was disappointing that all that work done to make that map wasn't even used. It's like opening up a fancy gift box and getting a pair of socks when you were led to believe it was something better than that. Yes this game is old but there are plenty of old online games that still have a following.

I've paid for this game several times over, both in MvM tickets, and crate keys, not to mention that I bought the game at launch in the first place with the Orange Box. Valve could at least fix the bugs that persist in TF2, they owe us that at least. They make more than enough in micro transactions from TF2 to pay for a team of good devs to at least clean up an optimize the game.

I could give a crap about new weapons, but cutting the map out was uncalled for. Too confusing for new players? How about, "Get good, scrubs". Those of use who have been playing the game for a long time deserve something, too. Go back to 2 Fort if you can't figure out a linear map.
