Are we sure that EU fell after admin applications were declined?
I really became more inactive ever since my admin app got declined. In my experience it affected me directly and didn't really see the purpose in playing that much because I was also tired of it and, with nothing else to do like moderating the server, I just stopped playing. As to me not playing, I don't think it influenced others not to play, but I'm sure that when I stopped joining that others stopped too, not because of me but for some other reason which I don't know about. I don't know about the reason behind it, since it could be a bunch of them that I'm just not aware about.

In my opinion, I think we should sit down and actually discuss decisions on what to do with the Deathrun server, because I and many others think that some stuff has to go and some stuff has to come back, apart from a change in the rules.

I propose some of the Parkour maps to be added back since they were very enjoyable for everybody. Even if you could not beat neonoir, it was fun to play it, it really improved your skills. Saying that not everybody can beat it wouldn't really matter when maps like dr_playstation are in there since just a few in the server can beat Zurg, just like few people in the server can beat neonoir.
I think that some changes should be made in the rules, for example the whole FranGT ordeal. I don't think that because of the previous mutes and bans you should be banned for that much time for something so petty. I think it's very stupid and that it's not that deep. The punishments, in my opinion, should be chosen based off the offense and not the count of them. I also think that in such small things like that "griefing" he did they could've votekicked him if they were so mad, after all in such a petty thing the server should've taken care of it and not the admins by banning him that long.

I don't really think that complaining any more about this is gonna make any chance due to the stance in this forum by Bottiger to not undo the changes for some reason. The changes should be done for the community and by the community, unless they are required due to server issues and, if something is changed due to that reason, publicly informed to everybody in a forum post.

Neonoir's back BTW.

I find it so weird that It's considered griefing if you dropped it to an area where anyone couldn't get since it's unreachable and they think people will try to get them, but only get killed afterwards. I suppose that's called fish baiting but I don't think it is griefing, though. It's their own fault for trying to get them knowing they'll kill them anyways.

Some maps do have a respawn timer on intels. I think they do exist in supermarket and other maps, so you can go back and get them.
edit: it takes a bit while for coins/intel to respawn, usually one minute?

What I said before that If you get the respawn intel, you can do whatever you want.

No it isn't. Players can't nominate it, but admins can force the map to be played on the server, which is what happened during the event yesterday.
thought it was back since i saw it but I couldn't play, oops

Can't blame Bottiger. I am sick and tired of the whole "blame the penguin!!" let alone the admins. They're just doing what they are supposed to do. Blame the user for casting the report knowingly, as it would cause a deficit in the count.

While griefing is a whole subject, I think the rules should also be expanded to include more.

@Senor_Caballo's comm ban, for example. He plays music occasionally. But from my experience, if you ask him to stop, he stops. Fun guy to play with, but he hasn't been active since this. The culture of petty reports is what is harming the count.

Now for an expanded response. So where do I begin? First of all, this isn't fucking court, if it were then we'd have jury trials as well (which I would support actually). Secondly, it's the admin's decision; they could look at a petty report and think "Alright this guy hasn't really done any harm, he stopped playing music when people asked, I'm not going to take any action in this case" but they don't and instead they feel the need to flex the only power they'll ever have in their lives no matter how uncalled for it is.

I also don't understand why you would want to be somebody's tool anyway? Because that's all you are to these pathetic individuals who make like a hundred reports each month. You're their tool who exists just be used by them and I'd be embarrassed if that were me.

why y'all overthinking ts, getting banned for this is retarded because its a map / mapper issue if the coin can be lost

I hate to be that guy because it seems like your attitude is genuine.

If your attitude towards the server and your own mental wellbeing is affected by the acceptance or decline of your mod application then declining said application was the only move.

That being said.

A two state solution could be the answer here. A difference in cultures of FF/DR/ZE player base warrants a separate ruleset. There is a strong difference between the regular tf2 servers and the alternative game modes servers and that difference should allow room for a change in rules. I hope this discussion continues.

Nah, I just got bored from playing. I didn't get mad for not getting chosen as an admin, you even have to say it in the application. What I meant is that I was already bored from the server itself and with nothing new to do I just stopped joining. What ticked me off is other people who were great candidates for a server like deathrun were just not accepted, when Deathrun was really in need for a moderator due to the amount of people causing trouble

I've already said to bottiger that there should be a separate ruleset for the custom servers, possibly even a separate sourcebans system with its own separate admins, but I know he wouldn't bother doing that especially not at this point. One of the biggest problems is that certain admins are treating these gamemodes like they are vanilla servers when the culture is absolutely different and this creates a conflict of interest.

the culture is absolutely different and this creates a conflict of interest.
Odd bedfellows here.

I’m inclined to agree with you. I’ve spent a minimal amount of time in the alternative game modes and in that short amount of time it felt like visiting another English speaking country as a child. So foreign yet familiar.

I can’t comment on the moderation, rules, etc. but I can talk about culture and it’s a big difference. I hope the fat penguin and other mods spend some time in the alternative game modes servers to see how much of a different place it is.

There needs to be an equilibrium between cultures before the suggestion comes to fruition.
What doesn't work right now for the EU is going well in the US. (Right now)
What may not work well for the US would make the EU better.

Sorry not sorry, but somebody gotta look out for the US side also. None of them is present in this discussion. It's a lose/lose situation if you make it happen and harm their population count as well.

I think the real answer everyone's ignoring is all the EU players just moved to panda due to the direction the skial map pool is heading, all the people who wanted less slop and were okay with bhop moved to panda and anyone else who was okay with the slop direction skial was heading stuck to skial us. I don't think its some big conspiracy with denied mod applications or people leaving for a one day ban (or 6 months for some users with repeated offenses) and never coming back or anything like that though.

Back to slop maps being the problem and not concerned if we would be stuck in a fad.

After recent developments, I think it would be wise for the sake of the community.

EU players are on the US server, not sure how many times I have to reiterate that.
I just want the EU back because this weaponization of reports was not the norm until the exposure of the US server. SIGH.
The unwillingness to cooperate with a diverse community is what will ultimately lead to DR's demise.
I really wouldn't approve of the censorship that occurred here, as the responses are no longer visible.
Mistakes happen, and I am willing to forgive whoever.

It does not relate to griefing, but reflects the apparent disconnect that is evident in the community.
Exploiting and griefing can all be the same, like the approaches of the reports. They are derived from the same state of mind.

Now, ultimately, the report is petty. You (Wabbit) reported for exploiting, knowing very well that PlayStation is capable of having its faults. I haven't witnessed a single report of that happening from you, let alone you helping new players figure out how to navigate the map. "Haha skill issue"

Is this the case of reports being made? Because I see how it can be after Parasoul shared this on Discord. Major thanks to him for crafting this analytical masterpiece.

Your PlayStation is not pulling in the statistics. So you go out of your way to generate a report on users on the map, newgrounds unshockingly. Most likely because they wanted it. I'm pondering if Ellis is based on the same principle for betterment, but this is the same manner of coincidence occurring. If you're going to create a witch hunt against the general audience for this and not by your own hand, Wabbit, I am going to call you out on it.

If Hawk Tuah goes away, I won't be upset. Was I upset when I was in EU when gayrun was pulled? Nope. Not enough to create a forum account until Ellis was taunting about removing hawk tuah and threatening to ban me for killbinding.

Removing users just so you can have your favorite map is not why EU players are somehow removing themselves to go to Panda. I don't need to make a case AGAIN how that's inevident, incompetent, and immaterial.

When did I say that

When did I say that

Back in June, when we were on dr_ancient_memes and I happened to make it to the end of 21 squares.
I killbinded by the button, and apparently that could've been a bannable offense. But I'm over it. I'm just stating from my experience.

If my confession is used against me here to discipline, so be it. There needs to be a voice for why EU players are falling apart.
