This may be controversial but hear me out. There is demand for it but the question is can it be supported? Bottiger has mentioned in the past that he doesn't like the idea of more players meaning more waiting time which is a fair point however I don't believe it would be an issue considering most deathrun maps now respawn players for minigames giving people an incentive to stay on and hope someone makes it to the end.

I have seen a server running deathrun with 40 maxplayers but I think that would be too much and 36 seems like a good middleground. That's only 4 extra players. Would it really do any harm? In terms of edicts it would be about an extra 60 max.

In terms of potential balance problems I also don't believe this would be an issue on most maps. There are plenty of long maps with 20+ traps that, with a good Hale, red still struggles to beat even with a full server.

+1, but we should test every dr maps with 36 players just to be sure that it doesn't crash
 
after having the effect of not being able to join a deathrun server for 45 minutes, i can confidently say that this change is warm welcomed
i can't even join dr_ancient_memes and would have to play other maps because of the limit reached. I don't want to play other maps, i wanna go dr_ancient_memes!! And playing with friends is even harder; while one of you can join, the second would have to wait an hour to have a slot available

+1 but increase it to 40
 
+1 4 extra players wouldn't be too hard for hale to handle and it would relieve just even a little bit of that queue time
