Somewhat Threatening Sniper
There's a suggestion I'd like to make but I'm not sure if its possible, so I ask: Can you ban certain weapons on certain maps? In certain deathrun maps some weapons can cause glitches to occur, for example on dr_trollrun the medigun can cause glitches that kill your own team mates and on dr_poker you can use sticky launchers to shoot stickies over hale's wall and stickyjump him into the RED area. (I'm aware I have no proof at the moment, it's just id rather know if its possible to do this before I go through the effort of recording a bunch of demos. I'd rather ask this first instead of finding out you cant do this anyway.)

I was testing some of these with Bluuwolf (Hey, it's me flanky.)

Medigun increases push force taken on trollrun, and if a medic is healing you on certain traps, it will instantly kill you, since the trap moves too fast. Also lets you survive in traps that do damage over time, because it's a medigun.
 
Report the people in the report section. Not here
We aren't trying to report people, we are suggesting the removal of certain weapons. If - as bluehawk says - its possible to ban a weapon on a specific map, then im trying to get weapons disabled on certain maps to make there be less exploits.
 
Wouldn't it be much better to remove the potential to glitch, rather than have the glitches continue to happen but just ban the people who do it? It saves a lot of trouble in the long run. Besides, most people don't even seem to know how to report; !votemenu is used 99% of the time and almost always fails. The people that do report can't be on all the time and really don't come on that often in the first place.
 
Some people get really upset if their favorite weapon gets banned.

I haven't heard complaints about laser weapons up until now so I don't really think it is a big problem.

If there is a weapon that is easily abused and causes a big problem, I will consider it. For those of you who don't read the title, I'm talking specifically about deathrun, not vanilla servers.
 
Yknow what, forget this. This isnt gonna get fixed so i guess ill just have to make a million reports reporting all these people doing exploits and greifing in deathrun. Ive noticed admins never seem to even play DR so you guys probably dont know what its like but personally im sick of it being possible on some maps to just kill off your entire team. That or have hale escape. Or end up on a map thats so unfair its near impossible for RED to even win. I just want to try and fix some issues but damn, it aint easy.

I suppose the Cow Mangler and whatnot can be left alone, since damaging Hale through the walls is only possible on a select few maps. Some weapons (like the sticky launcher and medigun) are abused constantly.
 
We have blocked sticky launchers on safety first, so its not like we will never do it.

Blocking sticky launcher on poker would be favourable; it doesn't really affect any other maps from what I can remember. Completely removing the medigun could be a possibility, since slow-death traps can easily be broken by just have 2 Medics healing each other inside of them. Same goes for the Amputator's healing taunt.

I'll agree with that, I mean damn. The amp can cause rounds that don't end till you run out of time on more than a couple maps.

A big problem with some exploits is that they are easy to do. So everyone does it. Which means if we reported them we would be banning half the server.
 
Ok I banned amputator, removed the medigun slot, and banned stickies on poker. It will load on the next map.
I really am sorry for causing so much hassle and confusion, but I can't help but feel deathrun will play a lot smoother now. This won't be the last you hear from me though, there's still things I'm gonna try to fix.
 
That's not a problem, but please understand some things we can't fix right away or we have other people to consider that may not like your proposals.
