Already got it, and it's already Hale's Own Jarate.

WASTING NO TIME ON GOLDEN SHOWERS.
 
Value skyrocketed for some reason. One day it was one reclaimed, the next people were giving 2.33 refined for it.
 
I think its due to the fact that no-one wanted such a "use-less weapon" as some people put it. Now because everyone smelted it or something of the like, the rarity increased.
 
I traded mine to Brick because I was like "Brick is my friend, he wouldn't cheat me out of something!"
For the heavy's boxing hat.

Now Brick is DEAD TO ME.

No, the real kicker was that the hat was made by killerman. Which raises it's value :D
 
Maybe everyone realized that there are servers that increase the amount of Jarate you can hold.

Maxed it out in under an hour.

Does it really matter about the kills on the jarate/strange wep? cos as far as i know, it resets after trade. Id buy one tho, for 1 rec :D

There's an unregistered setting in the game for when the weapon gets 10k kills, my bet is something cool happens to it once it gets put in.
