I've known that suggestions like these were brought up and declined due to people being able to easily abuse it with multiple changes, make their title inappropriate, or be to hard to moderate with the sheer number of people with custom tags. I propose the following.
I've saw on other xenforo forums ages ago that you can give credit to certain group ranks the ability to change their title X amount of times. Users who climbed the current title rankings to the top getting "Bottiger's Own Aimbot" or having X amount of trophies (in order to get the Highest Title you must have 20 trophies).
Allow users who got the amounts of trophies to be able to change their title tag to any custom one that is appropriate once every three months and any more times would have to be done through a forum admin at their discretion.
I don't even know what you mean by title tag, what is it?

Why let people who got 20 trophies get to change their name once? Why not everyone?
Suggestions like that were brought up before and were denied due to the sheer number of titles you will need to consistently moderate, by having to collect 20 trophies, you will essentially have to be a regular of the forums, as getting 1 year on the forums,or 5,000 posts and a lot of positive feedback will be one of the trophies you need to achieve 20 trophies.
Won't people be just spamming and bothering admins to get custom name tags and how will admins be able moderate people are not using inappropriate titles?
You will get less requests to change someone's title than you will to change someones name completely because of the smaller pool of people who are allowed to even change it. As to the moderation question, it will be as difficult to moderate an inappropriate title as a new forum user name or an inappropriate thread. I am certain if someone infringes a rule on the forums, people will report it swiftly.
