I am sure to some of you, this would be old news. I just came across this last night. A little girl named Rosalia Lombardo was born in 1918 and died 1920. Her father was so saddened that he had her preserved. She is currently on display in Capuchin Catacombs of Palermo in Sicily. Even after almost 100 years she still looks like she is just sleeping. It's quite creepy. What do you guys think of this?

What the hell. My parents are from Palermo, Sicily and never told me about this? I've even been there too and haven't seen it.

I think I remember reading about this on ripleys, or maybe a similar situation. A guy was trying to make some medicine/vaccine/witchcraft that made it so bodies didn't decay. a guy made 1 "sample" of it, but soon after using it he died. The reason this reminded me of that is that he used it on a little girl.

Its a remarkable level of preservation, would like to see how well the skin retains after 500 years, like some of the inka mummies found.. most older mummies that appear remarkably preserved are either from a frozen enviroment, or from anearobic conditions, such as the peat man.
