Hi, I'm Deers. I've been enjoying the return of CP_Badlands, but I feel that the respawn timer is too long. I believe at the moment that the time is set to 20 seconds, and that a reduction to 10 seconds would be much better. A lot of times the teams can become pretty one sided, and if one side manages to wipe the other at the start of the match, its almost impossible to manage a push back. Not only this, but the quicker respawn times would make for a more exciting experience in general. A good, some what steady flow of enemies piling onto the floor in front of the last control point. Also, I think the original respawn times for the previous CP_Badlands server was 10 seconds.

Yeah, back on the old badlands server the timer was never more than 10 seconds, and the gameplay was much more pleasing with it not as long.

P.S. Thanks so much for bringing it back!
 
I agree that a reduction to 10 seconds would be much better for Badlands
 
Yes but how are you going to do that? I think most people would rather play on a server with people than an empty server with faster respawn. I think default respawn times are too long too. That's why before Valve made quickplay, the faster respawn servers were the most popular ones.

But trying things out could kill the server. For example, I tried a bunch of things to try to turn US20 into an unusual server and now it doesn't even fill up on the weekends anymore. This could happen to Badlands.
 
Well you are fighting a large uphill battle against Valve's quickplay system.

From the effort I see in Turbine Pro, No-crit, and TF2ware server, the chances don't look good.
