Sorry for another one of my "could I run this" thread, I don't know jack about laptop hardware so its a pain in the ass to figure it out with my little knowledge

Borderlands 2 system requirements:

OS: Windows XP SP3
Processor: 2.4 GHz Dual Core Processor
Memory: 2 GB(XP)/ 2 GB(Vista)
Hard Disk Space: 13 GB free
Video Memory: 256 MB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8500 /ATI Radeon HD 2600
Sound: DirectX 9.0c Compatible
Other Requirements:Initial installation requires one-time internet connection for Steam authentication; software installations required (included with the game) include Steam Client, DirectX 9, Microsoft .NET 4 Framework, Visual C++ Redistributable 2005, Visual C++ Redistributable 2008, Visual C++ Redistributable 2010, and AMD CPU Drivers (XP Only/AMD Only)

My shitty computer specs -

Processor - Intel® Pentium® Core™ 2 Duo processor T5450
1.67 GHz

Ram - 3 GB

Ancient vidya card - NVIDIA® GeForce® 8800M GTS
With 512 MB of GDDR3 Discrete Video Memory

Operating system - Windows 7 64 bit

My computer specs in more detail if needed

Could I run it?

Update -

Bought borderlands and tried it today. Surprisingly I'm getting very playable FPS with high textures, while having some other bells and whistles being turned off.

No such thing as a Pentium Core. It's just a Core 2 Duo.

Anyways, probably not. You need a processor upgrade, your graphics *might* be able to handle it.

I just went a head and bought the game when it first came out, like you Im not an expert so I just said fuck it and did it, it runs really smoothly, even multiplayer, and my laptop is so awful, crashes on most other games. So I don't know, if any1 wants to help me figure this out, just drop my a pm, sorry for thread stealing!

An update if anyone cares, I tried it out and I'm surprisingly getting more than playable FPS on high graphics with some other stuff turned down

Borderlands 2 doesn't have that high system requirements, and the 8800 is a damn good gfx card (even if it is getting old). The only problem lies with the processor.
Should run it easily.

With vidya games, processors hold up much longer than everything else in terms of upgrade needs. They're not getting faster by leaps and bounds, just much more efficient.

Memory on the other hand needs to be upgraded basically every hour at this day and age...

Not sure if you bought it or not, but GamersGate just did a price mistake on their 4-pack for BL2 setting it's price to a mere $5. A few people are selling one copy for $10 each (can't argue, since demand is still pretty damn good)

Yeah, my good ol' trusty 3.2 Ghz Core 2 Duo, has still never failed me in any game yet. It's been 5 years.
