what most likely happened with the beeping when you changed the slot is that you didn't put it all the way in, (this has happened to me in the past.) as far as the mother board and CPU, it's not likely for the motherboard to have a problem, nor for the CPU. it maybe a ram issue. If you could find some test ram it should suffice.

P.S. The system didn't beep when the ram was in the other slot right?

Reread the last few posts.
Anyway, I didn't put it in the other slot, just reseated it properly.
Tiem for L4D2 stress testing. I'll use the craptop to keep you guys updated.

I did read the last few posts, I just did a better touch up. Are you stress testing your RAM? What result are you looking for?
 
Insanity, only 2GB of ram, and no BSoDs when I should've had 3. Faulty stick is sitting next to me and a hammer.

One fucking week ago in your first thread about this problem on the second page of this thread I was the first one who said (not counting Roman who said it was HARDWARE issue in general):

And now, after 1 week of useless debates about OEM vs Retail OS and so on you have finally came up to conclusion it was a RAM.... Hallelujah!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS. Damn, I hope your parents will find some money to send you over to Harward since you are definitely a brilliant kid.
 
I am thinking of upgrading my 3 year old ATI 4350 1 GB to a 1 GB 6750 DDR5, and my 2 GB RAM to 4 GB.
I was also about to upgrade my 3.1 Ghz Core 2 Duo but I don't feel like it because my processor hasn't exactly ever had a problem with any games as yet.
By the way, if you have ancient 2 GB DDR2 RAM, is it possible to put 2 more GB RAM of the DDR3 type?
Or would I have to remove that and buy 4 GB DDR3 straight away?

Your motherboard most likely only fits DDR2, which means if you wanna get more RAM it's gotta be DDR2

It just died again. 0x..1E. GIMMIE MONEY SO I CAN REPLACE BOTH MY STICKS.
