All drivers up to date? Don't use registery cleaners, they don't help at all, and chances are they'll just cause problems.

Yeah, most Registry Cleaners are bullshit. Have you taken it in anywhere to get looked at, or called Customer Support, since these errors have been around since startup?

Nope, they weren't too bad at first, 1 every other day without data loss or anything, but now it's 5+ a day and I'm fearing for my HDD.

I'm pretty sure I don't even have the warranty info anymore, but my guess is expired.
Well then you'd have to buy a whole new PC or pay for repairs if you used Customer Support. Maybe a PC Repair Shop? Those are more affordable then the ladder.

I haven't been on for a while, so here's a TL;DR recap of what's been happening.

After a fuckload more bluescreens, I took out my old Ubuntu 11.04 disk and tried to boot from it and backup files to an SD. Ubuntu wouldn't have it. After running startup repair twice, the computer did an automatic chkdsk, and found that Ubuntu fucked up the security IDs for most of the files. 2 hours to repair that. When I finally get to what's supposed to be the login screen, I get a blank one. After a night of total raging, I've decided to torrent a Windows 7 disk and try to repair the Windows install with it. STILL MAD AS ALL HELL.

And this is why e-Machines suck...I had to, sorry.

All seriousness though Mod, glad to get you back Online.

42 minutes left (download from official source), cup of hot cocoa, and a few blank DVDs. Results in an hour-ish.

Well, let's see.

If it's an eMachines that was manufactured back when it was owned by Gateway, try pressing F11 when you turn the computer on. Otherwise there's an eMachines Recovery Console under the start menu.

If it's an eMachines that was made after the transition to the Acer line-up, typically they'll either use the traditional "Repair My PC" restore by pressing F8 when you boot, or a more subtle hidden recovery partition known as D2D recovery. As long as that's enabled in the BIOS, you'd hold Alt and press F10 as you boot.

HOWEVER, if you're having a HARDWARE issue, find your favorite parent you can manipulate and go get a new computer. I won't begin to troubleshoot that over a forum.

Bluescreens (called BSOD) have specific errors.

Could you please describe step-by-step what are you oing that causes BSOD's to pop up? My first suggestion (without even troubleshooting) would be - change your memory sticks. In 90% BSOD's are caused by RAM faults. Usually BSOD's are caused by hardware conflicts or hardware not functioning properly and in most cases this hardware is memory. If it's written "made in China" on your RAM sticks - just replace it, and the error will go away.
Secondly, what do you mean by "unable to zip dumps"? Are you trying to archive dump files of some application? If so, why the fuck would you do that?

Windows built-in memory checker claims to find RAM errors, but I can't even log in to get the log or get to recovery from Start. Made after the Acer switch, so I'll thry that.

Nothing specific, absolutely random.

Again, Windows memory diagnostic found errors with it, but I can't even check anymore. And, even if I replace the sticks, this (probably) won't solve not being able to log in.
lol @ bold

Normally it's helpful to include the memory dumps it makes on crash, but explorer and WinRAR treated them like they half didn't exist.

Oh, and it's not possible to steamroll Windows when booted from disc, it wants you to log in.
