You should know ahead of time, though, that we do not allow VZW IPs, so you should consider connecting through your own wifi instead.

Based off our records, you used your home IP to connect to our servers just yesterday. As such, I'm not sure I understand why you need your phone to connect? Anyways, here's a quote from our owner on why we do not allow VZW IPs. I hope this helps clear up why he chose to not allow them:

We do not allow Verizon Wireless ips because many hackers can just restart their phone to get a new ip, and that is in fact what they did.

That's not my home IP. That's my work. I moved and don't have cable modem at home now so I have to use my phone. Is there a way to by pass that via steam ID or something? I love the servers and donate and will continue to do so but if I can't connect then I can't play at home.

I understand. My apologies that you don't have access to cable right now. Your question has been asked, and, unfortunately, the answer is generally no, we can't make an exception. Plus, your IP would change every single time you turn your phone on or off. I hope you'll still play with us whenever you have access to cable though (i.e. at work)! You may look into a high quality, paid VPN service, but you will have to be very careful that our servers don't detect your VPN as a proxy, as well as that the IPs on that VPN haven't been tainted by hackers. So, honestly, the best way for now may be to just play at work until you are able to get cable at your home.

It might be good to look into the idea of being able to whitelist specific Steam IDs who are believed to be trustworthy. Bottiger should be able to add that.

We can set it to not auto-ban donators but we still don't recommend using Verizon wireless as your main connection. Linked ip bans happen before the proxy check as the proxy check takes time.

It is not trivial to add proxy whitelistng to sourcebans and very few people use verizon wireless as their main connection so we do not plan to whitelist any steamids. It also doesn't make sense for us to whitelist anyone that asks for it and is basically given a blank check to hack on alts.
