Banned for using a private VPN

  • If you are not the person that was banned/muted, you are only allowed to post evidence. Trash talk is unnecessary.

Hey, I jumped on a Skial server a few days back and was banned for using my personal VPN. I thought the rules were no public proxies, but I was on a private one at the time. If we aren't allowed private proxies and I just misread the rules, I would hope I can be unbanned since I didn't know :/.

Proxies set up on your own server are okay. Proxies you buy into like hidemyass are not because they are public, someone will probably unban your steam id, but if you use the same vpn service you will probably get banned again.

(I am not an admin, someone that is an admin will take care of you.)
 
Yea, reading over other posts I see that they define Public IPs as any on hosting services. I have one set up on a server host in germany (hetzner). I figured by public VPNs they meant free VPNs (That's what I always viewed public VPNs as at least). It would be no big deal to just turn in off when I come to play, but it was a bit of a surprise when I was banned :D.

It is any vpn host, whether paid or free. VPS or dedicated server is okay.
 
Why did you wait a week? We can whitelist that IP if you can prove you own the machine by putting a webpage on it. Otherwise we'll just delete the ban and you can play without a VPN.
 
I'm lazy. Notice how this is my first posts here? I REALLY don't like signing up for new forums :p (No offense, unban me plox :d)
