I recently received a 12 hour ban for reasons completely unknown to me.
I joined to play a game with friends on skial USW8 to find that a bunch of people were mic-spamming, harrassing other players, then began randomly vote-muting people who weren't joining in on the harrassment. They tried a votemute against myself and several other people, the one against me succeeded.

As a common player on skial, I started a report against them and several other people backed me up.

I left and tried to come back to find that I had been banned?
Is this how people who are trying to create a positive community are treated?
For what reason was I banned and what would have been the alternative to doing what I did?

You reported the same person 2x as fast as you could for votespam. He only made 1 vote.

When I got on the server I couldn't find anyone to corroborate your claims. We need demos and proof.

I unbanned you though. Try having fewer but higher quality reports.

That's a mistake on my part, I didn't mean to report the same guy twice. Was only supposed to be once.
And I think you're mistaken. If you're the same admin that spoke with Tayminn, she backed me up. Ole Greg was there as well if you need a third person to corroborate.

What would you like in terms of demos for the future?

Thanks for unbanning. Do you guys have a guide or list of things you prefer to see in reports?

No we don't have a guide. If we can get there in time and see what is wrong, it doesn't matter how helpful the report is. If not, we need people to help us gather evidence.

Then is there a way to get in contact with admins more quickly?
All the offenders had left by the time an admin showed up. In the future I'd like to prevent people getting away with this kind of behavior

Check out the Skial Admins group on Steam and try adding some of the admins in there to your friends list.

Odds are they will accept if they've seen this thread (or in general even if they hadn't seen one like this, I assume)
