Wow, a thread in which people are on topic...
Are you just posting irrelevant crap or the blindingly obvious to get your post count up? if the answer is yes, then unmod is the place for you. if the answer is no, then you seem to be spamming my boy.

I was stating a fact that out of a few of the newer threads that have gone so off topic that this one surprisingly hasn't been corrupted.

I'm not a post whore.

I just take my SUV to a guy in the neighborhood. 8 hours and $50 bucks later it's washed and detailed. Do it every 2 months or so.

I watch this channel a lot for car care stuff and general hilarity. He JUST put up a claying 101 video that might be useful to you gents.

I know that the Volvo/Jaguar dealership here in Salt Lake City uses Meguiar's (I asked once after taking my Volvo in for major repair work), and it seems to work very well. There's a high gloss and whatever seems to be stuck to my car comes off. I use the Meguiar's car soap, I have them to any waxing as they'll detail any car that's registered for service if you pay for it. That's the only stuff I've had experience with really and I'm happy with it.

Speaking of hitting a deer with your car, I noticed a Volvo wagon sitting out front of the dealership with a fairly fucked up hood once. I asked what caused such an odd damage pattern and they said the person hit a deer, with the only damage being to the hood, a cracked grill and it ripped a side mirror off. It still ran perfectly, no airbag deployment, nothing else. It was just there having the hood, grill and mirror replaced and then going back to the owner. Apparently you can hit a deer head on at 70mph and only damage the body, it's something built into the safety of the car. Considering how quickly Volvo's depreciate, my S80 V8 was 70k new, I bought it for 17 and now it's worth 9-10ish, you might want to consider picking one up used as your next car. Mine has been perfectly reliable, insanely cheap to insure thanks to all of the safety equipment, and really comfortable. At the very least they hold up better against deer than whatever you were driving before, something even Volvo's from the 90s are designed to handle.
