On 8/24/13, at roughly 12:15am, player {Assassin Justice}, http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198081617460 approached me through IM in order to trade me my Unusual Noble Nickel Amassment of Hats for his Unusual Spine Twisting Skull. He did not immediately tell me what hat it was though, he was dodgy, telling me to hurry and take my hat off the marketplace and put it in a trade. This was quite suspicious to me, so I went to both the Google and Meet the Stats once he finally told me what hat it was. Both suggested that there weren't unusual versions of that hat, which raised a huge red flag to me. I asked him about this discrepancy, which he dodged and said gtg. Earlier today, I talked with two other Skial members about this, both agreed that there wasn't an unusual version of the Spine Twisting Skull, and that this sounded like a scam. Luckily for me, he didn't remove me from his friends list so I was easily able to get a screen cap of our conversation where he claimed it was an unusual. Unfortunately, I didn't think to screen cap his inventory at the time, and the item is no longer in his backpack. I'll add a picture of the conversation below, and hope for the best. If you need anything else, please don't hesitate to ask me. I'll help as much as I can. This guy seems to be pretty heavy into trading, so I don't think I'm the first he's tried to scam.

Thanks in advance.
Berke.

For some reason my browser isn't allowing me to edit this post, but I'm going to add a better picture of the actual conversation, as this one is blurry for some reason.

You ran his information on Stats and Google, but not SteamRep?

Here is your idiot:

Already marked for trying a similar, outrageous scam.

Here is the item he tried to trade, I cannot track it as backfuck.tf doesn't have that accurate of an item history as Valve's Drunken F00l's TF2Items/SOP Backpack viewer. It's on Page 3.

Leads a trading team (More like Team Rocket for Scamming) which is seen here: http://steamcommunity.com/groups/SteamTradeingTeam (*Looks like Dave the MANLY has already made a note and the leader forgot to remove it...)

I believe you have enough evidence to have him marked again, with a skial tag, but you'll need to re-adjust your report to use the SR-required format, which can be found here.

I didn't look up his information on the internet, I looked up the hat's information. I was never going to trade with him, it was incredibly obvious from the very beginning what was going on, so looking him up slipped my mind. I only really do that if I'm actually going to trade. The other player I talked with spaced looking him up too until after I made the report even though he fully admits he should have known better. I'm new to trading, nor do I do it very often, so the whole routine of doing things is something I'm still learning.

Thanks for letting me know about the other format, there's a lot I still have to learn about this side of TF2 and need all the help that I can get. I pride myself on at least being clever enough to know when someone is trying to give me the business. So I'd rather have made a seemingly redundant report instead of getting ripped off haha.

That's fine, but with morons getting more and more clever on coming up with new ways to scam someone or rip you off, it never hurts to run a full check, especially when one's blabbing on and on about their item. Just food for thought, as the scam he did that caused him to be marked, is laughable to the point it makes my sides hurt.

Report's not redundant, if you make another post with the proper format, space the pictures you have, and include this link, which shows the item he tried to pass off, http://backpack.tf/id/76561198081617460?time=1377388800 then he can get a second mark, and a removal from the skial servers. If he didn't succeed on you, and by the fact he's already marked, what's to stop him from scamming some other chum? Might as well fixer up, more marks, more attention is sent that this person is an idiot and no one should be doing business with. (Even though it took place over IM, it's still worth adding notes to his soon to be lengthy record.)

Here's an example of what I mean, and note that he started with just one tag.
