Since this happened last night, I remember it quite well. I was using the rocket jumper on Skial Badwater LA 2 (my favorite server) with several friends. We would jump around behind either team and jump around the map, trying to get into special map spots and sometimes casually market gardening each other. Now, I am well aware of the rule "Refusing to help your team advance their position." However, I was never asked to help my team advance their position. Since I was never asked, I can never refuse, so I'm not quite sure why I was banned. Perhaps I was asked in chat and didn't see it. But again, if I didn't see it, how can I be refusing? My second most played class is medic, and I think that says enough about be being perfectly willing to help other people instead of just caring about myself. If someone can point out to me a specific point in which I was breaking a rule, I will happily accept this ban. But if jumping around with the market gardener while nobody is complaining is against the rules, I think something is seriously wrong.

P.S. - I'm a Skial regular and at one point had over 6000 ap (yes, I should get outside more). I am normally very careful about breaking rules, as I would hate to be banned from my favorite server, and although ignorance is no excuse for breaking a rule, I think that this says something.

You should not need to be asked to help your team. "Refusing to help your team advance their position" doesn't mean refusing after they asked you. It means, you are not helping your team advance their position, that you are hurting rather than helping. To take it that literally is pretty silly.

It's assumed that you're generally trying to help your team. That's kind of the point of the game. Not trying to get to special spots just to show off. There are other servers for that. Appeal denied.

Yeah so I'm watching the demo now... you are purposely not attacking enemies and the group of you are all just jumping around not the least bit helping your team. You can use any loadout you want as long as you are helping your team advance (pushing/defending/healing/killing/etc.) but high fiving enemies and completely ignoring the objective is griefing.

You also shouldn't need to be asked to help your team. It is assumed you are going to help your team win by virtue of playing the game.

I can see from your event log that this didn't go on for very long and soon enough you were back to playing seriously. However, you were reported for griefing and it's clear from the demo that you were. Just take the day off and in the future remember that people are in payload servers to play... messing around is for idle servers.

There has always been a war between people who want to play normally and people who friendly. Both of them can't co-exist.

Right now it seems like the people who actually want to play outnumber the people who don't mind friendlies, so we don't allow friendlies on regular servers.

If you want to be friendly I would recommend a trade or idle server.
