You were banned because SMAC caught you tripping sv_cheats with a hack, not for idling. We don't overturn SMAC bans.

Why not? I wasn't hacking at all. I don't know how to do such things.
You must have used something to forcibly activate sv_cheats on a Skial server. It's not just something where you can go into console and type sv_cheats 1 to activate it and get yourself banned.

I don't even know what sv_cheats or the SMAC system are and I had to google what they were to get better information on it.

I love playing on Skial servers and I would be really upset to not play on them anymore.

SMAC is an anticheat system that picks up on things VAC cannot. It's basically an extra layer of protection against hackers. sv_cheats is a console variable that enables and disables cheat commands for people on a server. When cheats are enabled for someone on a server like Turbine SMAC picks up on it and bans them.

Thanks for explaining the two terms, but as I had no idea what these are how could I have activated sv_cheats without even knowing what it was?

I must reiterate that I didn't do anything wrong before I was banned and I didn't know what had happened.

You don't have to know about sv_cheats to use a hack in tf2. I was just giving a barebones explanation of what SMAC and sv_cheats are so you could make sense of your ban reason.

I am going to be completely honest here: I did not use any hacks. Prior to being banned, I had no idea whatsoever about what sv_cheats or the SMAC system were. I think that it was a glitch in the system which got me banned instead of the perpetrator.

In a case where SMAC banned on the grounds of sv_cheats being active there's pretty much no chance this could be a false positive. A program you used activated sv_cheats when you joined Skial and SMAC flagged you for it, there's no other explanation for this type of ban.

I still don't understand. I have been on that turbine server for at least a month, and probably longer on a Hightower server. I have never used nor even heard of a program that can activate sv_cheats. I am still respectfully requesting having my ban lifted.

I already said that we don't overturn SMAC bans and that still hasn't changed. Simply saying that you didn't do it isn't enough to convince me.

Why don't you overturn them? Surely it can be just this one time since I was wrongly banned. I really wish that I had gameplay footage to show you that I wasn't doing anything wrong prior to my ban. I really love playing on your servers and I still respectfully wish to have my ban lifted.

So if there IS a chance of a false positive, then my case must have been one, as I had no programs whatsoever installed which could trigger the SMAC system and the only command I ever type into the console is 'kill'. Before my ban I was doing the exact same thing that I always do on Skial servers, which is just normally playing. If you want proof, just ask anyone in this list on Aug 26 @ 4:37 PM: http://steamcommunity.com/id/MentallyUnstableTortoise/friends/coplay/

These people aren't friends, just people who I have seen on the Turbine server that I was wrongfully banned from who can confirm that I don't cheat. I have no intention whatsoever to cheat. Why would I attempt to given that I have about 800 hours of TF2 played and the products in my account?

Also, if you find out that the SMAC turned up with a false positive, would you still overturn the ban? I really didn't do anything wrong and still had no intention of hacking.

There is 0 chance of a false positive for convar detections.

We have also seen many people who didn't cheat for years and decided to try it one day and their KD went way up.

The sv_cheats detection will ban you before you even get a chance to use it however.
