Hello.
Today, I attended my friend's birthday party.
While we were on skial Hightower, I left my computer.
His little brother then came over and started slamming his hand on the keyboard (according to my friends), thus setting off a lot of chat binds.

I also change my name a lot in game, I had no intention to bypass, and as you can see, I didn't even chat after changing my name, not knowing that that was bypassing.

To get him to leave the server, because some of us were offended, we just said schrodinger_down everytime he died.
It made him madder, and eventually he left.
You'll notice I stopped afterwards.

At least, since I left my computer unguarded, unban the others, including The10thYay (http://www.skial.com/sourcebans/index.php?p=banlist&searchText=STEAM_0:1:75405891&Submit), and Blimeo (http://www.skial.com/sourcebans/index.php?p=banlist&searchText=STEAM_0:0:56080317&Submit), since they were on the IP at the birthday party and got banned because of my friend's little brother.

I would be grateful if you at least read this.​
 
I was called in because you were gagged for spam by another admin and you were changing names so I banned you. I'd like to hear from the ones who muted you before I decide on your ban.
 
Additionally if schroe is that much of a problem to you then make a report but keep him out of this appeal. Worry about yourself first
 
i'd rather you unban my friends first, they don't deseve to get banned because of my negligence.

also do you keep name histories here? i'd like to see how many names i've used here.
 
I talked with Cdawg and I am unbanning your friend's accounts since I can see the connections made from the various Ip's. I did however, change your ban back to your own home IP until Cdawg makes a determination on your ban. Be advised that if you attempt to connect from your friend's house again while banned that IP will be flagged and they will be re-banned.
 
i'm not at my friend's house, so i'll let them know they can play tomorrow.

also, looking at my stats, i've had almost 80 names in the past 2 years...

up to you to decide if i was doing it because DingusDestroyer33 is a priceless name, or if i was bypassing.
 
Okay, name histories are located in Hlstats. Just search by your name or steam id. It shows all your name changes on Skial.

Cdawg has passed along that I can unban you for dodging. The silence will stay as that was handled by a different admin and honestly, that should not be lifted. For future reference, do not change your name around while silenced. Any attempt to communicate is considered dodging. If you are having an issue with another player being annoying in the server there is a client side mute feature that is pretty handy.
 
Alright, I'm fine with the chat spam ban, thank you for informing me about the dodging rule!

Also, I didn't think the mute feature mutes text chats from one person...
 
Also, if I go on skial tomorrow, change my name, and accidentally chat/press a bind, will i be banned again?

Text chat is pretty easy to ignore, so there is no filter, but most people are annoyed by mic spam, thus the mute feature is available.

Just do not change your name to communicate with others on the server. I'd leave it be for a few days though. You won't be re-banned if you accidentally hit a bind or try to chat; It just won't show up. For future reference any binds more than three in a row can be considered spam. The chat box is small and binds fill it up quickly, negating any messages meant for gameplay. We have no issues with binds, as long as you space them properly and use them just here and there.
