Why should you be unbanned or unblocked?:
I had a friend over at my house and we had played on the EU Turbine and 2Fort servers, but he had brought his laptop over to play and was going to show me a "hack" that he had apparently bought. He made an alternate account and showed me it but said I couldn't use it because I would need to buy it, although I had no intention of doing so anyway.

After this he had gotten his alternate banned, but when I attempted to get on the servers I had also been banned despite not repeating what he did.

After going to the SourceBans list I saw that it was because of us using the same IP address, (he used my wifi as I mentioned he brought his laptop over.)

I really hope this is enough as I would hate to be perma-banned because my friend thought it would be "cool" to show off a "hack" while also using my internet at the same time.

I understand although I wasn't previously aware of this "if one person uses your IP maliciously then everyone regardless of what they have or haven't done gets f***ed over" policy.

Could it not be possible to at least have my Steam account unbanned while leaving the IP banned?

Well I've only seen the one about not advertising hacks; nothing about absurd IP bans.

You would feel the same way as I if someone in your household did the same (and in my case couldn't just unban myself in such a scenario.)

That is too bad.

Reckon it's a good thing I don't let imaginary friends on alt accounts hack on my connection then.
Good luck on other server groups.
