Alright let me start off that this ban came after a Day long mute that was unfair as well to a certain extent.

I will start with the ban though because this has people arguing with the admin as of right now.

I was banned for being "friendly" on a skial saxton hale server.

I was told by the admin that was on the server that I had to start fighting or I would be banned. So I said to myself alright sure whatever. I went and started fighting and attacking the hale because I didnt want to get in a slap fest with this admin. What ended up happening was as I was running about getting ammo and health the admin banned me because I was not attacking the hale when CLEARLY 20 seconds ago I was shooting at him with my minigun. Apparently If I am not shooting at him all then time then I am being "friendly".

I was a heavy and the hale was all the way across the map. There was no way I was going to do any damage so I ran to get closer and as I was about to get to him I was banned.

If you look at the ban reason it has no evidence or anything of what I was doing. I neither have evidence due to the fact that I thought I was attacking the hale and doing my job. Looks like I was not.

If you wish talk to the people on the server at the time. I could even give you names. They could vouch that I was fighting the hale when I was banned.​

I am going to start off and say I understand that I would get muted for what I did, but there is one thing that the admin did that is annoying me.

I was banned for "votemenu abuse"

what I did was try to mute someone as a joke because we were all playing around on the server.

Well a little bit after that I was muted instantaneously. Never got a warning or anything. I was just muted for a day and thats it.

If anything thats not fair. If this is written off. alright sure whatever I can live without talking for a day on a skial server, but if not the muting block should be lowered considering that I did not get any warning at all from the admin.​

You were silenced for trying to use the votemenu on someone because you didn't like his voice. We don't silence people for "being a squeeker", and using the votemenu like that is considered abuse. As for the ban, I warned you just after I silenced you for votemenu abuse about being friendly. You then went and started attacking for a few seconds and then went back to being friendly a short while later.

Not to mention the long period of time you were running around doing nothing.

If I am getting this right you are probably talking about before when the admin didnt tell me to fight.

I will say that I was being friendly at first, but after that I was fighting and I punched the hale and everything.

This was before the admin told me to fight the hale. I am going to guess you are watching a recording or something.

keep watching and you will see I started to attack the hale later on.

sorry let me continue that sentence. The mute block thing is ok for me. I don't mind. The only thing I mind is that you didnt give me any warning at all. besides that I don't care about it.

The ban I was running to get ammo. If you expect me to shoot at the hale from half way across the map From which you KNOW he was with a minigun then that makes no sense. I was on my way to him to attack him when you banned me.

Muting someone "as a joke" is still against the rules.

As for the length of the punishment, we have standard ban/block lengths that we follow:
1 day > 3 days > 7 days > 30 days > permanent.

Ozzeh how is it fair that YOU can end a appeal that has to do with you? Why dont I have the right to ask another admin here to see this AND I would like to ask if another admin comes here that he gets to get my side of the story as well because I have counter proof for what kyle posted.

as I said. I know that vote abuse is muteable. I understand that. The thing that I am arguing is that you never gave me a warning not to do it again or ANYTHING. All you did was mute me instantly.

and like I said if the mute is not lifted then I don't mind, but I would like it if you would accept that you never warned me at all for that.
 
I've talked to several admins about this and decided to lower your ban from 3 days to 1 day, since both events happened around the same time. If any admins have concerns about this they may contact me to discuss it anyway.

Here is another TF2 admin responding. There are a few things you need to know.

First off all, Ozzeh is a competent admin who went through a dedicated selection process. This means he is capable to make fair judgements and is supported by the admin team when doing his job (except from false bans because of personal issues).

Second, you openly admitted to be griefing, as there is also proof of that. Thus there is no way for you to claim the ban is invalid. Furthermore, when Ozzeh claims you started being friendly again, I am more eager to trust the word of my fellow admin than a stranger that infringed a rule.

Lastly, there is a policy of politeness and respect in the admin team, which makes an admin resolves his own appeals and bans. The admin that issued the punishment always has the final word on it since he was present that time.
