Why should you be unbanned or unblocked?:
Hello,

I understand that the ban says "wallhack and aimbot" but I do not use either. If you want an explanation, I modified a file that makes gunshots and footsteps easier to hear. If that is considered cheating or hacking let me know but no other server has had a problem with that. People just jump to the conclusion WALLHACK or AIMBOT when in reality it is just an advanced sound mechanic combined with a really good pair of headphones. If you would like to modify the file back to its original state in order to get the ban lifted then let me know. I am a more than reasonable person.

I spectated you for a long time and recorded a demo which I and other admins went over and scrutinized. Modified sound files and a good pair of headphones don't account for seeing through walls and snapping perfectly to enemies in the distance.

With all due respect, I can explain the "snapping" at enemies. I suffered an injury to my wrists several years ago so I am somewhat limited to how much I can move them. To combat this in game, I have an extremely high sensitivity (of 40 in the options.) After a couple of years of playing TF2 as well as other FPS games like Half-Life and Left 4 Dead, I've grown to actually like it so whenever I play a game, the first thing I do is set the sensitivity as high as I can get it. Having a sensitivity that high makes it so it takes very little mouse movement in order to look at any angle. I apologize if you find that hard to believe but it is the truth and I honestly don't care enough if you do believe it or not.

As for the "see through walls," that once again falls back to the sound. Games run on the source gaming engine have a high dependency on the stereo sound system (stereo being the sound's playback location is relative to distance and direction in-game.) I am not sure if you have played either of the Left 4 Dead games but in my personal opinion, it is the best game to take advantage of the stereo system. The zombies growls, the attack notices they makes, and the footsteps they take all play a huge part in determining which way they are going to come from. I simply took that principal into TF2 which is more than possible to do. If there is someone, shooting, running, or having their character talk around a corner, me and any other player who takes advantage of stereo is going to hear it and naturally will take advantage of it modified sound file or not (which I have removed off of my computer.)

Now I'm sorry if anything I said previously sounded rude in any way as I respect any decision you make based on the experience and knowledge you have but I will simply argue my point of view. Take it however you wish. In all honesty, it does not affect me whichever decision you make. If I stay banned, I blacklist the Skial servers and be on my way as there are still thousands of servers on TF2 to play on. If I get unbanned, great because I do genuinely enjoy playing on Skial (apart from the taunt timer.) As for the modified sound file, I did not realize that it was considered a cheat because nobody else has come forward and told me about it so I have disposed of it properly. You have every right to punish me for that but I personally believe a permanent ban for that is excessive. I have been on steam for several years (not just on this one steam account because my previous account was hacked and lost) and I have not once been reported to as cheating in any way but I respect the admins and whatever decision you make from this. Have a nice night (or day depending on your time zone.)

While I can appreciate a high sensitivity, I play that way as well with a high DPI mouse, what we saw went beyond fast movements. These were direct snaps to targets without any overshoot, and in once instance you shot at an enemy who had just been blown into chunks so you inexplicably snapped perfectly to a sniper across the map in an attempt to find a target close to your original aim point and "save" the shot. Any experienced player would know your shotgun has absolutely no chance of harming a sniper at that distance.

I do appreciate what you've written here though and I never took any of it to be rude; quite the contrary actually as I'd say this is definitely high on the list as far as calm and civil appeals go. Unfortunately at this time unless new evidence comes to light or more admins watch the demo and think this might have been in error, the ban will have to stay. For the record this had nothing to do with your sound files, by all means go ahead with that; I understand the nuances of good audio for finding players.

If anything changes it will be noted here.

I appreciate the hospitality of the response to my argument. I won't argue any further with the decision unless you deliberately post something that could affect me. Have a good one!
