Many people on saxton actually want the mic spamming and it is easy to client mute, as long as only one person is mic spamming at once then buff overflow is not a problem.

sub community or not - end of the day they are still a part of the skial community. Even if there is a slight majority that enjoys hearing the music....I shall give you a real life example that might be overstating, but I think it's somewhat relevant.

Me and a group of 20 people are walking thru a mall and highly enjoy country music (certainly not the case - it's god awful.) A bunch of other mall patrons enjoy country...does that give me the right to strut around with a giant boombox blasting Carrie Underwood (bad example perhaps of country, but thats the only name I can think of.) with the understanding that the other people there can put their fingers in their ears, wear earplugs - or shop at another mall? Just because it's acceptable to a group of people does not make it any less of obnoxious and server clearing. End of the day we want to keep the skial servers full...I assume it's also why we don't start slapping bans down on people for using "fag" or "faggot." While unacceptable bigoted in much the way it's used, it's way too commonplace for us to do anything about or it'd be half the world banned.

Fact of the matter is simply don't do shit that is blatantly obnoxious no matter how much you or your friends like it, I can't comprehend why this is a hard concept. (not saying you don't disagree with me, but just saying in general.)

Chances are the mall you are in has pretty clear rules on the kind of behavior allowed, the ONLY point I've been trying to make is that we needed an official ruling on the subject, not forum jockeys jumping in trying to tell us what they view the rules as being.

You also asked why it should be allowed and it seemed you didn't quite understand why people would do it or enjoy it, my other post was just trying to give you some insight as to why people enjoy it.

I concur with the comment that we do need a clearer ruling, and I'm merely stating why hopefully (even tho I thought it was 100% banned) we can get make it official, I really don't want to deal with that Sexpanda guy coming back and being an annoyance on US22.

ITT: Idiots.

I'm locking this thread. Bottiger has his decision here. Micspamming is against the rules and I think that's pretty clear cut. The rules aren't going to be amended, but I think we're causing a bigger shitstorm trying to enforce it strictly on Hale. If only one person is doing it, then we put up a vote. Otherwise we're going to bring down mutes if we're getting a lot of random chatter. IMO, it's still a play server and having someone playing sound affects the ability for others to communicate. I personally don't visit them unless I see a report, but for admins that do, please heed their discretion in these cases. I don't think we should go around banning people for one time things. Just placing a mute is good enough in my eyes.
