Any other reason you should be admin:
I spend a frequent amount of time on Dustbowl TX and I have made many friends while doing so. I am well liked on the server and have a good time with everyone. I have spent time on many servers since I started TF2 and I have found the Skial servers to have the most pleasant community of them all. The people are amazing and funny and I want to help keep the community that way for everyone. The reason why I thought to apply is because we have had the occasional player who is racist and spams the mic with hurtful slurs to the community. It got to the point where one on by friends quit the server because of it. This is the type of problem that I want to help. We are an honest and fun community that just wants to have fun and I want to represent them by becoming an admin and help out anyone who needs it. I mainly play on the dustbowl servers, but I am willing to help out anyone on any server and listen to their problems. I am a calm person who like to make people laugh and find the good in everything. I do not believe in abusing power because it would contradict the entire problem I am trying to help. I am currently a full time student attending a university to major in Computer Engineering with my goals set to graduate with distinction. I hope to be considered for this position and it would be an honor to be chosen as an admin. Thank you for your time and consideration.

If you want to help the community with people being racist and stuff, then why do you not /report or even use /votemenu?

Thank you for your response. I just thought I could make a good admin specifically for the dustbowl servers. I have to admit that I personally have never tried to contact an admin directly for bans, but I have gotten messages from regulars that just wished there was an online admin that frequently played the dustbowl servers and I think I could be a good fit for that. Respectfully, the vote system requires 90% which almost never passes as long as I have been a regular on the server which causes frustration in the community. However, I clearly understand your response and will continue to push the voting system if there is a violator. Thank you again for your time.

If a vote doesn't work, you come to the forums and submit a report or do a /report.

The vote system does not require 90% unless you are trying to ban, which happens a lot less frequently than votesilences. I don't know the votesilences percentage, though I should, but I think it's maybe 75%. You don't even have a single attempt at /votemenu in your logs. In my opinion, this sounds like a case of, "Well, we don't have an admin who frequents our servers, and all the regs want one, so hell with it, pick me!"

I would personally mark this app improve, but I'll wait for another admin's opinion. I think it would serve you best to start learning about the /votemenu and /report commands. Both of those can benefit the community more than just someone who has never tried them or doesn't understand how they work and thus decides they should just be an admin instead. So, personally, I think this should be marked improve, and you should improve on those things over the coming months, then reapply later. But, like I said, maybe another admin sees redeeming qualities in you and your app.

I appreciate your feedback very much and I will take your advice. Thank you :grinning:

Lol, I want to comment something real quick just so I don't sound like a complete moron. Obviously /votemenu does not appear in our logs, only !votemenu does, but whatever you pick on the votemenu will show up in our logs (I.e. /votemenu critoncap). So, that's why I said you had no evidence of using the votemenu. Carry on. :tongueout:

A slight request before I critique, could you update your ban command so it's using Steam3IDs? As far as the tag this app deserve, I'm fine with leaving it untagged and waiting for more vouches. The reason I'm saying this is because it's well written, he's been extremely polite and has loads of time here. I'm certain now that you've been given suggestions on how to handle rule breakers from RM and Tayto, you'll actively work on making an additional effort to stop them. That'll be the deciding factor for me. Good luck!

Thank you for your response. I apologize because I'm not quite sure what you mean by using my Steam3ID. According to my steamrep page, my Steam3ID is [U:1:87628837] which is what I used in my command. However, if this is not right then please let me know and I will gladly change it so that it fits your question. You are also correct because I have been given great advice from Tayto and Rm that I will certainly persue. Thank you for your time and your compliments.

Oh my mistake on that part, probably shouldn't have typed it drowsy haha, carry on =)

I game with Araarmy on the server that experienced the issue previously mentioned. I believe that no action would have solved the issue without admin presence that evening as I was the person who left the server over the abuse heaped upon myself and others (sexual harassment, accusations of racism, extreme abuse). One player attempted a voteban and was screamed down by the problem. In my opinion (which carries no weight) I am convinced that admin presence is completely necessary for the wellbeing and enjoyment of gameplay for the users of the servers, and that that admin needs a calm manner and good rapport with the permanent players on that server.

Also, to further emphasize the point of necessity, the problem player returned last night, the night I chose to give the server one more shot. I muted him on my own, but had to explain to another player how to do the same for himself. Admin could have alleviated the problem much more easily, swiftly, and with a modicum of respect for the players than each individual ignoring on his own.

Araarmy has a good relationship with the players on this server (as well as others). He is well liked, respected, and has a calm demeanor that influences others. I feel that he would be an excellent choice to monitor these servers in a more official capacity.

Just one player's opinion.

Thank you so much for your kind words bug. Its been a pleasure gaming with you too.

I think bug described army wonderfully so I'll second her sentiments. I've had experience as an admin and with that insight believe some level of admin presence is a good thing. Admin abuse is a number one concern especially for someone who hasn't been fully vetted yet. Certain requirements need to be meet before decisions are made which is expected but I wanted to offer my support for army. Cheers~

Thank you very much Mcrib. It too has always been a fun experience gaming with you.

IF you or Araarmy was there at the time you could use the !report function and record demos/screenshots for evidence have you guys done this?

"Did not get pass on server" You can then just post manual on the reports section
Can look on Skial Admins group on steam to find a admin awake to come help you!.

And not seen any reports on the forums regarding that issue you had so please submit a report with evidence in future

If araarmy did get admin i doubt they could be there 24/7 so please help uis by doing the above!.

I give this a 0 For now till i see some reports

Thank you for your response Sakiko. Bug ended up leaving the server after the extreme verbal abuse she received so I would have been the only one who could have ended up using the report function and I didn't. That's on me and no one else. I should've thought of it right away, but I didn't and there is no excuse for it. I did however try to find an available admin on steam, but after getting no where in the search I decided just to leave the server for now and see if he would be back on in the future. I haven't seen him since. You are also correct in the fact that I am not on the servers 24/7, but I am online for the majority of the day and I would be aware of any messages to me almost instantly and therefore could help almost instantly. I completely understand that you need reports to push this forward and if anything happens again while I'm on, I won't make the same mistake. Thank you for your time and input.
