So, I was downloading Left 4 Dead 2 right now (13 GB) and I noticed how PAINFULLY SLOW it was for me (dl speed 60kbps, 2 days remaining). Its one reason I tend to only buy boxed games (other than their coming for 30% the price of most Steam games)
Anyway, what my question was, once you've downloaded them ,is there any way you could copy the Left 4 Dead 2 files into a DVD or something so that if I ever format my computer I won't have to go through this....TORTURE a second time? You know, backup the files and burn them to a DVD or to a portable hard drive so that later after formatting and setting up the stuff, you can just paste your files and skip all the downloading crap.

i do not think so no. It doesnt save any install files on your computer as far as i know. Just the files needed to run the game.

Sorry boss everyone has to do this

are you sure you have the right download region / speed? And other than that does your internet suck? (if so why are you buying online multiplayer games?)
