First off, our Minecraft Server is great. We have alot of great people there, and for the most part, it's extremely peaceful. There's one concern that I have to raise though. Why in the Fuck is the Server in France? Honestly. Why? Can't we have a US Hosted Server? This Lag is driving me fucking insane. Is there anyway we can move the Server from France to the US in a reasonable amount of time (i.e, about a couple of Days). I'm sure many people will agree that even with a stellar PC, they still Lag because they're so far from the Server source.

yeah, I don't think it's terribly laggy either. maybe alter vid settings?

all I know is

1) if you are on a 64bit system, get 64bit java
2) vid settings: open GL off, smooth shading off, render distance short, remove any stupidly large texture packs
3) buy better internet

I've had a couple of lag instances, but they were minor annoyances and did not break the game.

Besides, we get baguettes and wine.

Minecraft's Multiplayer is notoriously buggy and laggy in general, especially when it comes to mobs, minecarts and redstone. Delays in block placement also show up too.

Such as how a zombie can hit you even when it appears to be outside of its attack range (whereas in single player you can easily hold a zombie back)

those issues are persistent throughout all MC servers, latency and server quality can only do so much. the rest is up to Mojang.

Well have they been working on any new Patches or Updates to resolve these problems? Quite frankly, it's annoying.

I live on the west coast and have 180 ping and I barely feel any lag. It is in France because we have 16 gb to spare there. We have 8 gb to spare in Chicago but it is full of TF2 servers, and if minecraft crashes and uses 100% cpu, then all those servers will lag, and Roman is gone for days at a time.

Thanks for the Info, Bott. Lock the Thread now?

For the record, I often read my messages. I just don't always respond. And the Minecraft server always crashes whenever I'm away for copious amounts of time. However, I have new safeguards in place.

Locking!
