Resolved 30 min ban for "voteban griefing"?

  • If you are not the person that was banned/muted, you are only allowed to post evidence. Trash talk is unnecessary.

Hello,
A short while ago I got banned (for no reason) from a 24/7 Harvest server based in Europe. I could not catch the player's name, however. Initially, he started a votemute and EVERYONE said yes, which I found shocking, and proceeded to say "lol 100%" or something along the lines of that. After about 15 minutes, he initiated a voteban, and the same thing happened - 100%, and I got kicked.

I have no idea why I was banned. I was neither being abusive nor was I hacking. Most importantly, I was not dodging bans. I was playing fairly well and had two dominations at the time. I'm obviously going to be automatically unbanned soon, but this voting system is far too lenient.

That's him, all right. Good to know he's just spamming votes and no one's holding a grudge against me and the other players. The ban should expire in 3 minutes, by the way.

It gets abused a lot (imagine how many people don't make a thread here), and if it's called for a valid reason an admin handling the situation would be preferred anyway. Take griefing for example, the other team would probably know nothing about it, all it takes a couple of friends to single out someone as a griefer and spam the chat to get enough votes. We need to remove voteban and replace it with the report feature, and get more admins if the current team can't deal with the increased amount of reports. It's not like we don't have enough applicants.
